Coordinating a multi-country surveillance study titled: “Center for cArdiometabolic Risk
Reduction in South Asia (CARRS): Surveillance Study” in Karachi. CARRS is a
collaboration of partners from India, Pakistan, and the U.S.A.; namely Public health
foundation of India (PHFI), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Madras
Diabetes Research Foundation (MDRF), Aga Khan University (AKU), and Emory University
(Atlanta). Study is being simultaneously carried out in India and Pakistan.
Supervision of all project related activities at Karachi site.
Timely and prompt communication for the research study between the two sites (India and
Pakistan) in order to send and receive necessary information via emails and teleconference.
Supervising team of field project staff of 16 people in carrying out field based project
activities in 80 clusters of urban Karachi and supervision of process of data cleaning and
management.
Ensuring quality assurance according to the protocol in enrollment and follow up of
participants enrolled in the study.

Facilitated the under graduate teaching program at the Aga Khan Medical college.

Coordination of short course titled SDMACS (Statistics, data management and

Involved coordination with different people involved in the course to facilitate the
sessions. Making schedule of the course, logistics arrangements and ensuring timely

variable experience ranging from postgraduate trainees to AKU faculty and those coming

different squatter settlements of Karachi (Sultanabad & Rehri Goth) in 2011-12. Weekly clinics in supervision of Family Medicine consultants at Community Health Center
(CHC) at the premises of Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) from 2011-2014.
Independently managed outpatient clinics having common ailments.

growth monitoring and child development).

VOLUNTARY SOCIAL WORK AND COMMUNITY SERVICES
Worked as a volunteer with a local NGO Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA)
during Earth Quake Relief Support Activities at Northern Areas of Pakistan (2006).
Activities included assisting doctors in patient evaluation and subsequent management and
also took part in relief activities like provision of drugs, foods, shelter and rehabilitation.
Worked with a local NGO Aman Foundation during Flood relief activities at Dist.
Rajanpur Southern Punjab (2010). Activities included providing immediate relief to the
