EssayWhy I want to be an Army Aviator

It is my desire to be a Soldier in the United States Army, to serve my country and its

citizens, to lead as a Warrant Officer, and fly alongside the finest rotorcraft pilots in the world.

While there are many routes into an aviation career, I have chosen the path of military service.

Service, leadership, and a passion for flying are all necessary components to be an army

aviator.

Service has been my focus for a long time. As a registered nurse I have been dedicated

to serving the sick and dying. I wish to serve my country as a Soldier and contribute to the

mission of national security. I am fully prepared to place the needs of the army above my own.

I wish to serve as a leader. Officers of every rank, whether by commission or warrant,

are entrusted with the lives, respect, and careers of those under their command. It is a great

responsibility to lead America’s Soldiers and live up to the highest possible standard. I want to

be part of the proud history of the military, earn the respect of my fellow Soldiers, and lead by

example every day.

It is my desire to serve as an army aviator. All pilots have a passion for flying, but not all

pilots commit that passion to the mission of the United States. I wish to dedicate myself to that

mission; to submit my passion to duty. I hope to have the privilege to contribute to the mission

of the army as an aviator.

The three components of Soldier, leader, and aviator are individual and interconnected,

and each has separate standards of excellence. I want to meet and exceed those standards,

whatever the military may call me to do. I hope to be given an opportunity to turn these words

into action. I want to be an army aviator because it is a challenge, an honor, and a commitment

worth pursuing.
