ObjectiveFull-time employment that will allow me to utilize my skills and experience in Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering with a research based focus on design, fabrication, integration & testing.

Work ExperienceAES – Ascendant Engineering Solutions Austin, TXSenior Mechanical Engineer, November 2015 - Present Served as Program Manager for various Govt & Commercial end-use electro-mechanical

device programs. Budgeted time, materials & labor while maintaining a working role as the Lead ME.

Performed in a rapid response environment. Most projects were quick turn, and required turn-key solutions.

Devised unique tool-less manufacturing method solution for customer concerned with budget constraints.

Sourced, and worked with vendors to provide unique materials necessary for our solutions. Translated ideas into 3D models (using Creo and SolidWorks), and would test the concept

form, fit, and function prior to building any hardware. Designed and built test rigs using 3D printer to physically test the hardware, thus verifying

model fidelity from ANSYS analysis. Communicated to ensure design manufacture was correct and proceeding through the

process in a timely manner – worked hand in hand with shop personnel (PCB, Sheetmetal, CNC, Soldering & Fabrication, Coatings, Casting, Injection Molding, etc…)

AMAT – Applied Materials - Varian Division Austin, TXSenior Mechanical Research Engineer, September 2010 – November 2015 Created multi-million dollar Semiconductor and Solar Robotic Automation tools for several

global clients with a focus in the Disruptive Technology Group. Routinely devised unique and patentable solutions when presented with tool functional

roadblocks. Including a unique Permanent State Electro-magnet, a piezo-electric precision control motor, and several robotic automation systems.

Led a small team of Engineers on several rapid needs projects, as well as long term projects lasting several years.

Sourced and worked with vendors to provide unique materials necessary for our solutions. Performed Materials analyses due to extreme equipment environmental concerns.

Implemented the use of a new elastomer capable of withstanding said harsh vacuum environments.

Simulated my design solutions using ANSYS to verify structural and thermal compliance.

J6 Engineering San Antonio, TXDirector of Engineering, September 2009-September 2010 Acted as lead Engineer of a small Startup company. Developed business plans and proposals for government provided requisitions.

Cultivated relationships with clients and customers to continually develop the company.

SwRI – Southwest Research Institute San Antonio, TXSenior Research Engineer, August 2007-September 2009 Developed multiple satellite components and systems that would be launched into orbit via

NASA and/or the DoD. Extensive use of 3D modeling and Analysis software prior to building hardware Conducted trade studies to determine optimal satellite parameters. These studies directly

affected program direction and created significant cost savings.

Additional Work ExperienceUSA - United Space Alliance NASA, Johnson Space CenterIncrement Training Manager, September 2005-August 2007Developed, managed and implemented training plans for the International Space Station (ISS) Astronauts and Cosmonauts. Adapted to and integrated real-time changing requirements with International Partner training teams. Ensured that all known contingencies were planned and trained for. Developed new training and software tools to cope with previously unknown tasks and contingencies. Conducted trade studies for next generation ‘Shuttle’, the Crew Escape Vehicle (CEV). Wrote programs in Excel and Matlab to identify training deficiencies.

SAIC - Science Applications International Corp. NASA, Johnson Space CenterPayload Safety Engineer, June 1999-September 2005.Performed safety and reliability assessments of ISS and Space Shuttle Payloads involving structures, mechanisms, and battery issues. Conducted Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) for experiments from simple to complex systems. Designed & conducted numerous workarounds and tests to verify experiment/equipment safety & reliability.

ACT-I Advanced Concepts and Technology Inc. Waco, TXEngineer in Training, May 1997-May 1999Initiated structural design system for the DOD Rapid Prototyping Project – Creating 3D parts from 3D models using Stereolithography.

EducationMasters in Aerospace Engineering, June 2005 - THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTINBachelors in Aerospace Engineering, May 1999 - THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN
