PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

I t was a Capital Repair Work, in

which I participated as supervisor

and hands-on worker; I l ike to

know how things are done when I

am to manage or supervise a work ;

even more in such an important

one.

This transformer suffered a

fai lure that compromised the

three coils of one of i t ’s three

columns.

After this , there came many

others, Plant Output Transformers,

in the levels ranking from 13,2 to

220 kV, al l of them in capacit ies

measured in MVA [not kVA, only

high output ones], to be repaired or

given maintenance.

Taking out the steel laminate of the superior part of the core.

The work ex tended for more than a year and included:

Getting the transformer into the workshop, with very l imited resources.Taking off the cover of the transformer.

To determine which coi l s were in fa i lure .

Proceed to the drying process wi th the MICAFIL®TM complex .

Proceed wi th a pr ior c leaning.

To rees tabl i sh them wi th new ones , cover the t rans former .

I t i s exact ly the one we used in Cuba, but the one we used was mounted in a t ra i ler for f ie ld uses , t ranspor t ing i t behind a t ruck .

The one we used was th is same model , f i t ted in to a t ra i ler for f ie ld operat ions .

I t has a t r ip le act ion: To c ircula te insula t ing o i l that was f i l t ered , heated , passed a vacuum tank in to the complex , and repeated the cycle .

Designing Experience

After three years working maintaining and repairing Plant Output Transformers, I moved to the Pharmaceutical Industry, beginning as a plain Electrical Designer, being given progressively responsibilities: Head of a group of designers; some of them technicians, other engineers, supervising their work, continuing with the responsibility of administrative personnel as drafters and accountants, ending being the substitute for the Engineering Head of Department in lapses of even 3 months during his vacations or trips to other countries.

I spent 10 years designing, supervising others work and the way my projects were constructed, in the complex multi-disciplinary environment of the Pharmaceutical Industry, where you find sterile areas, bioteries, dirt locations, wet ones, etc. And dealing with all other specialties and the technologists [Chemical Engineers] to solve discrepancies during the design process

OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE

•During all my professional l i fe , the of f ice work have been part of my work and I have nowadays many skil ls with everything related to paperwork.

•Aside to this professional development, I have worked in many sales posi t ions, out of my career, have received instruction in sales ski l ls , and have done many other things, have made deliveries with a van of my property, worked in many jobs dealing with customers, and many other things.

•You may f ind proof of my skil ls with the Microsoft Off ice Suite looking the present PowerPoint presentation, made by myself using what I learnt in the course I was given at NPTI [New Professions Technical Inst i tute of Miami] named ‘Business Computer Specialist’ , which included WORD and Excel too.
