Presently working with AIR INDIA LTD. as Assistant Controller since February 2012 (Integrated Operation Control Centre (IOCC) at Terminal 3, INDIRA GANDHI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, NEW DELHI.) Key Responsibilities: Monitoring worldwide day to day operations with the help of a software “SABRE” in order to make sure that flight departs on time and, if not due to any given reason, then to decide the extent of delay of the particular flight. Minimizing the consequent effect of any delayed departure from any particular station or base on the whole network of Air India Ltd. by changing type of aircraft , considering the booked load or distributing the delay between 2-3 flights to avoid various aspects such as crew duty time, weather, operational limitations at any particular station, misconnections of Passengers, etc. Planning next day’s operations based on the available resources i.e. availability of aircraft, crew and ground equipment at various stations keeping in mind the passenger safety and convenience and on-time performance level of the airline as top most priority. Disruption management in case of an aircraft held up at any station, non- availability of aircraft or crew lack of any other operational resource. Keeping the contingency plan ready in the event of disruption as in case of fog or weather related disruptions. Since Air India is considered as the second line of defence, we have to keep our selves ready in case of National Calamity like floods, earthquake, road block i.e. closure of highways due to snow fall or landslides in hills, border exigencies, Election Duty operations for security personnel etc. Monitoring Cockpit and Cabin crew movement with the help of a system called ARMS. In the event of any disruption calculating Crew FDTL (Flight Duty Time Limitation), checking crew cross qualification, crew patterns etc. Monitoring downlink/uplink messages (ground to air / air to ground) via ACARS and giving suitable/appropriate prompt reply to the commander of flight.
