8th grade Parent Meeting
Please come to an informational meeting about 8th grade year on Sunday, August 30th, following 10:30 mass in Mrs. Ethridge's
room. Topics of discussion will be upcoming events, event dates, needed donations/chaperones, and all that 8th grade year has to
offer for your child.
Grandparents Day 2015
Grandparents Day is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23rd. Kindergarten-4th grade students will attend mass with their
grandparents at 10:00 a.m., and all students in K-8 will have lunch with their grandparents starting around 11:00 a.m. If you have
grandchildren in grades K-4 only, then you will attend mass and have lunch with your grandchildren. If you have grandchildren in
grades 5-8 only, you will not go to mass and may come at 11:00 for lunch with your grandchildren. If you are lucky enough to have
grandchildren in both groups, you will attend mass with your younger grandchildren and meet up with the older ones for lunch on that
day. Lunch on Grandparents Day is a carry in lunch for everyone. Fast food is allowed on this day, or maybe you can pack a special
lunch from home for yourself and your grandparents. Students with their grandparents may eat lunch in the cafeteria, gym,
classrooms, or outside if weather permits. We will ask for all grandparents to return their grandchildren to their classrooms after
lunch by 12:00. It is a very special day for the students and their grandparents. (If grandparents happen to not be available, maybe a
special aunt, uncle or family friend can come have lunch with your children.)
BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Resurrection Scholastic Book Fair will be held the week of September 20th-25th. We are in need of volunteers to help work! The
book fair will be open Monday-Friday during school hours. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Miss Dall at
Reminder on Free Dress Days
Please remember the guidelines for free dress days. Short can be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee. Leggings are not allowed
for any ages. Boots and sandals with backs are allowed. All shirts must have sleeves. Please refer to the school handbook for free
dress guidelines. The handbook can be found on Sycamore in the documents section on the home page.
Extras at Lunch
We all realize how the prices of groceries continue to go up each time we go to the grocery store. The same is true for our cafeteria.
Because of these rising costs, the cost of an extra entrée will need to be increased. Effective Monday, August 31st, the price of an
extra entrée will be $1.00.
Needing some Volunteers
We are still in need of a few volunteers to help our monthly birthday celebrations special for our students. We are celebrating the
months of April on Thursday, April 14, June on Tuesday, May 17, and July on Wednesday, May 18. On each of these dates we are
still in need of volunteers to bake and serve the cake at lunch times. If you can help with any of these dates, please email Mrs. Austin
at [email protected]. Thank you very much for all your help.

Tests and Signatures
With the use of Sycamore and test scores being posted there, we do not send every test home with our 6th-8th graders for a
parent signature. If you see a score on Sycamore that you are concerned with and would like the test sent home, please
send a note or email to the teacher. Once you have reviewed the test at home, please return the test to the school for filing.
Teachers will go over graded tests in the classroom and answer students’ questions about specific test questions, but if you
would still prefer that every test be sent home, please fill out the form below and return it to the school office.
We would like our child, _________________________________________

to bring graded tests home for review. We realize that the test must be
returned to school the next day and kept at school.
