REJOICE AND BE GLAD "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad" (Psalm 118:24). Let us remember that these words of today's responsorial psalm are not only sung from the hearts of those gathered in our parish. They are also sung by the poor in tiny barrios throughout Central and South America. They are sung by those denied religious freedom in our world; these Christians lift their voices in clandestine places of worship. These words are sung by people who have lost loved ones to acts of terrorism and war around the globe. Even in the midst of conflict and division, Christians still come together to delare that poverty, loneliness, violence, and division will never, ever have as much power as the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Indeed, let us rejoice this day and be glad! Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co., Inc

AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL

COMMUNION My Jesus, I believe that You are in the

Blessed Sacrament. I love You above

all things, and I long for You in my

soul. Since I cannot now receive You

sacramentally, come at least

spiritually into my heart. As though

You have already come, I embrace

You and unite myself entirely to You;

never permit me to be separated

from You. Amen.

If you are visiting with us today, we are delighted you came to worship with us! If you are looking for a place you can call

your parish, please consider this dynamic Catholic faith community as your spiritual home. Because we are a family, we

rejoice and give thanks whenever our Heavenly Father gives us new brothers and sisters to share our journey.

CATHOLICS RETURNING It does not matter how long you have been away or the reason you left, we welcome you and invite you to think about renewing your relationship with the Catholic Church. Maybe you are unsure of where to begin; let us help you take the steps along your journey. If you are thinking about returning to the Catholic Church, then know that the Holy Spirit is calling you. Follow the calling and contact us at the church office, share your questions and update of the Catholic Faith and see where the journey takes you!

TO ALL OUR PARISHIONERS! May you and your loved ones enjoy the day and the season. If you are traveling, we pray you will have a safe trip and look forward to your return.

PRAYER FOR TRAVELERS O Almighty and merciful God, who hast commissioned Thy angels to guide and protect us, command them to be our assiduous companions from our setting out until our return; to clothe us with their invisible protection; to keep from us all danger of collision, of fire, of explosion, of fall and bruises, and finally, having preserved us from all evil, and especially from sin, to guide us to our heavenly home. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION The Lenten journey is now complete, its mission of renewal and preparation to receive new life fulfilled. The call to worship the Risen Lord has been received, and we gather to experience together the consoling presence of Christ in word and sacrament. We are at our best today, crowded and cramped to be sure, but the fullest sign of who we are meant to be. Christ has claimed us in the waters of baptism, we have acquired wonderful companions, and together we can accomplish great things. This is the day for rekindling the old flames of baptismal commitment, so we light the paschal candle, and by its light we make yet again the ancient promises to reject evil’s grip and empty promises. Today we do not recite the creed, but respond with one voice to age-old questions. New life has to be nurtured, both the life of the newly baptized and the renewed life of those who have passed through Lent’s refining prayer, fasting, and giving alms. At any Mass during the next fifty days, you may be surprised by grace and splashed by water! —James Field, © Copyright, J. S. Paluch Co.

Desde el escritorio del Padre Juan…

Estimados Parroquianos,

la libertad religiosa en nuestro mundo;

Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
