RETREAT CENTRE & GUEST HOUSE
WHY RETREAT CENTRE & GUEST HOUSE?
• With this Retreat Centre & Guest House we could have stable incomes to support children living in WIDE family and complement the support that we get from donators.
Our vision is to bring a constant and sustainable support for the children’s home.
“I want to join military. I like the environment cleaning program on every Saturday. I was always alone, but now I am
with a family of 32 which makes me very happy. I like singing.”

“Our land is in the countryside, with beautiful view of the holy Arunachala mountain, and only 8 km away from famous
Ramana Ashram”
Priya, project manager
Location: Perumbakkam (countryside near Tiruvannamalai)
ABOUT THE LOCATION
Tiruvannamalai, Sounth India:
• The city is known for everlasting peace and divinity because of the presence of Lord Shiva in two forms: as the holy mountain of Arunachala and as the holy shrine of Lord Arunachaleswara.
• There are also the Ashrams of the world-famous saint Ramana Maharishi and of Yogi Ram Surat Kumar.
• Some events also have been very famous in Tiruvannamalai: Deepam at the end of the year (November, December) and the Full Moon every month.
• The city is also very popular place for different Satsangs and retreats (Yoga, Advaita/Non-Duality). Every year 1-2 million tourists from different countries visit this holy place for peace and silence. Visitors find it’s silent environment and very natural atmosphere appealing.
THE VIEW OF OUR LAND AND LOCATION
It takes 15 min. to go to the main temple by car or rickshaw from the land, and 20 min. - to the WIDE Children’s Home. On the east of the land there is a wooded hedge which is a refuge for many animals. This part doesn’t belong to us (it is governmental part) but we want to preserve it at best. There is also a pit for rainwater. They are participants of natural landscaping.
