So what happens when two agree on earth and the third party in agreement is God? The extrap- olation of the power of agreement is expressed in God’s statement to Israel, “One can send 1000 to flight and two can send 10,000...since it is the Lord your God who fights for you, just as he promised you.” (Deut. 32:30; Josh 23 :10) If the power of two can send 1000 what can 12 do? Most assuredly with the Spirit of God in them the apostles turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). Imagine what a congregation of 400 could do? We have much to look forward to this year if we work together in our efforts. The enemy hates unity so we must watch for his schemes to divide our family. Therefore we must be on guard and watch for those who sow seeds of discord (Proverbs 6:12-19). When we break that phrase down we can see how this disunity starts to work. To “sow” means to spread a seed over a region. A “seed” is something that starts small but grows bigger when it is fed and digs its roots deep. It grows to spread its branches to bear fruit in order to reseed again. That’s how discord starts and results in separation. Secondly we must watch for the spirit of isolation. There is a real problem that has invaded the church since our culture promotes individualism and isolation. We are having a harder time trying to get people to work together and gather in a united purpose. We do not need to become extroverts to have unity but we do need to reach out to others. Fear and woundedness breed an isolating spirit among people. The remedy for all of this is loving and accepting one another in the Father’s love. That is a process and continuing effort for all of us. Families have disputes but they must learn to work through them because they are in a bond by birth not by choice. So are we. The body of Christ is not based on mutual feel- ings but on a mutual birthing. We must become unoffend- able and patient with each other. Of course we have disputes and arguments, that is natural. It’s what we do with our conflicts that can build us stronger or separate us farther. With that said, the Bible tells us we are better together and we must continue to meet and spur each other on. Remember we are not a crowd we are a family. - Pastor Tim Tyler Our Vision statement for 2018 is “Better Together,” because it’s important for us to understand that we are a family and not just a crowd. Scripture calls believers “Sons of God” and if God is our Father then we are brothers and sisters in the household of faith. This Kin- ship concept is explained by Jesus in Matthew 13:54, “Whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother." We are a family because we are born of the Spirit of our Father through faith in Jesus Christ. With that in mind, Paul tells us to give extra care for our spiritual family, “…do good to everyone, and espe- cially to those who are of the household of faith” (Gal.6:10). Paul also explains that, “to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Cor. 12:7). We are stronger together and more equipped as a body than as lone rangers. This “common unity” is what forms the spiritual bond of the body of Christ. Our community is based on our devotion to the Lordship of Jesus. The Bible speaks of the blessing of the anointing of unity in Psalm 133 and that ultimately it is through our unity that the Lord commands His blessings upon us. “Two” represents the basic building block for unity. If you have two, then you have the beginning of a community. Therefore, what happens with two can multiply to the many. Consider the use of ”two“ in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and alone? He has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him, a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” When two commit to one thing they become united to that cause which becomes a three strand cord, not easily broken. Jesus said, “If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven “ (Matt. 2:18-19) . So what happens when two agree on earth and the third party in agreement is God? The extrap-olation of the power of agreement is expressed in God’s statement to Israel, “One can send 1000 to flight and two can send 10,000...since it is the Lord your God who fights for you, just as he promised you.” (Deut. 32:30; Josh 23 :10)

If the power of two can send 1000 what can 12 do? Most assuredly with the Spirit of God in them the apostles turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). Imagine what a congregation of 400 could do? We have much to look forward to this year if we work together in our efforts.

The enemy hates unity so we must watch for his schemes to divide our family. Therefore we must be on guard and watch for those who sow seeds of discord (Proverbs 6:12-19). When we break that phrase down we can see how this disunity starts to work. To “sow” means to spread a seed over a region. We are having a harder time trying to get people to work together and gather in a united purpose. We do not need to become extroverts to have unity but we do need to reach out to others. Fear and woundedness breed an isolating spirit among people. The remedy for all of this is loving and accepting one another in the Father’s love. With that said, the Bible tells us we are better together and we must continue to meet and spur each other on. Remember we are not a crowd we are a family.

- Pastor Tim Tyler

Our Vision statement for 2018 is “Better Together,” because it’s important for us to understand that we are a family and not just a crowd. Scripture calls believers “Sons of God” and if God is our Father then we are brothers and sisters in the household of faith. This Kin-ship concept is explained by Jesus in Matthew 13:54, “Whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother." We are a family because we are born of the Spirit of our Father through faith in Jesus Christ.

With that in mind, Paul tells us to give extra care for our spiritual family, “…do good to everyone, and espe-cially to those who are of the household of faith” (Gal.6:10).

And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him, a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

When two commit to one thing they become united to that cause which becomes a three strand cord, not easily broken.

Another wonderful year in C3 Outreach has come and gone so quickly and by all reports it was highly successful and many lives were changed. From our short term mission teams to the local outreach programs, including the Prayer Tent, thousands of people have been touched by the love of God. Thank you to all who prayed and served in every area of the C3 Outreach programs, we could not have done it without you.

One of our biggest changes has been the name of our min-istry. We went from “C3 Missions” to “C3 Outreach.” We feel that “C3 Outreach” is a much more inclusive title with every-thing we are involved in both locally and internationally.

We are excited for the new doors God has opened to us. We welcome Bill Childress as a new outreach board mem-ber. God lit the fire in his heart to serve deeper after his first short term mission trip to Hong Kong in 2017. We are excit-ed to work with him and welcome his passion, heart and new perspective.

We are also excited about an open door in Cuba. As Cuba is welcoming Americans after a long absence, we are eager to carry Gods love to them. Cuba joins Hong King, Beijing, Pakistan, South Africa and The Voice of the Martyrs as one of our destinations this year.

We pray that many of you will come alongside of us again this year. You may serve on a short term mission team, or one of our many local outreach programs. Maybe you will become active in our Bowl-A-Thon or give financial assis-tance. All together we are confident God will lead us through another year of serving Him.

Christ Community Church would like to announce a restructuring of our systems of operation going forward in 2018. In developing these new systems, we are redefining roles and structures for our future goals. With that, the Elders made the difficult decision of eliminating the position of Church/Financial Secretary. We would like to thank Denise Wojtkow-

ski for 18 years of faithful service. She performed her job with excellence and through no fault or deficiency of her own, she will no longer be employed by Christ Community Church. We pray Gods blessings and provisions for Denise and her family.

NEW, Thursday, February 1st—Fishers of Men Evange-lism class as an extension of DI. Charlie Hess will instruct this 8 week course in evangelism. Register today by call-ing the church.
