TWENTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

BOLDLY WE EMBRACE OUR MISSION TO PROCLAIM THE GOOD NEWS THAT SALVATION AND ETERNAL LIFE ARE

THROUGH JESUS CHRIST

We are familiar with the message of Jesus and the mighty deeds which accompanied it, such as the healing of a deaf man. As we accept the Gospel in faith, we embrace the life and mission of Jesus as our own. It then becomes our mission to bring the Gospel message to others so that they will embrace the love and mercy of God and come to salvation.

And people brought to him a deaf man who had a speech impediment and begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him off by himself away from the crowd. He put his finger into the man's ears and, spitting, touched his tongue; then he looked up to heaven and groaned,

and said to him, "Ephphatha!"-that is, "Be opened!" - Mk 7:32-34 Readings for the Week of September 6, 2015 Sunday: Is 35:4-7a/Jas 2:1-5/Mk 7:31-37 Monday: Col 1:24--2:3/Lk 6:6-11 Tuesday: Mi 5:1-4a or Rom 8:28-30/Mt 1:1-16, 18-23 or 1:18-

ST. VINCENT de PAUL “WALK FOR THE POOR”

On Saturday, September 26th, the St. Vincent de Paul Buffalo Council will be hosting the “Friends of the Poor” Walk in Niagara Falls State Park on Goat Island.

Registration for the Walk is at 8:30 AM, and the Walk begins at 10:00 AM. There will be a free post-walk picnic for all walkers and a free tee shirt for the first 100 registered walkers. There is no registration fee, all walkers will solicit pledges in support of the walk. The walk will be held rain or shine and will be one loop around Goat Island, about 1.2 miles. You may walk shorter or longer if you choose.

100% of the proceeds raised will be utilized directly to benefit your neighbors in need. When you register by mail you can choose Queen of Martyrs as the conference benefactor.
