Bishop Robert Barron offers insight on St. Benedict—the monk who
“contributed more to saving western Christian culture than anyone else.” Born just after Rome fell, Benedict founded the religious community
that would preserve the best of the old and allow for the emergence of an authentic, Christian way of life.
All are invited to join Deacon Jairo Maldonado in a five week study of
the Parables of Jesus. Using Lectio Divina and theological
study, participants will hear the Word, reflect on it, apply it, live it, and share it.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The DO for Our Lady of Lourdes parish is a full-time
exempt position that is responsible for overseeing the
budgeting and financial management for the parish and
school, personnel management for the parish, facilities
oversight, and participation in parish and school
committees. The DO is the primary person responsible for
parish operations that support evangelization, the work of
the pastor, and the other parish ministries. By insuring that
the practical matters are correctly handled, the DO will
help create the environment for the excellent functioning
of all dimensions of parish ministry. These practical
activities need to be handled in a spirit of Christian
stewardship. The DO should have management experi-
ence in the areas of responsibility and possess excellent
communication skills. Other management skills required
are in the areas of organization, finances, human
resources, and property. Practical leadership and
collaboration are needed to work with the parish staff and
the parish’s collegial bodies, i.e., the pastoral council, the
finance council, and the school advisory council.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred,
preferably in Business.
B. Actively practicing Roman Catholic, with current
knowledge of church ministry.
C. Managerial experience in the areas of responsibility. At
a minimum, will have practical experience in those areas
where s/he does not have professional experience.
D. Leadership and communication skills are essential.
Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
