Background Constructivate is a recently started research project with the aim to increase the recycling rate of construct- ion and demolition waste (CDW) in Sweden. By gathering a broad range of important actors within the industry our idea is to take the whole value chain into consideration. This gives us the possibility to test new ideas as well as established methods in various environments and in different contexts. Constructivate is divided into six main areas, one of which focuses on supply chain management (SCM), and particularly questions related to reverse logistics. Logistics, and mainly transportation, has shown often to be a very sen- sitive parameter and an important factor to make recycling chains and -systems economically viable. In this M.Sc. thesis you will investigate and analyse the current situation of CDW management from a SCM perspective, and subsequently suggest what ways there are to increase today’s recycling rates of CDW and make the management more efficient. Reverse Logistics in the Construction and Demolition Waste Industry Proposal for M.Sc. thesis: Assignment & Goal 1. Carry out a situation analysis of the current supply chain of CDW by performing a value stream mapping, a literature review and interviewing stakeholders and experts within the architecture, engineering and construction industry, to increase the knowledge about the role of SCM in construction and demolition processes. 2. Based on task 1; identify drivers and barriers for increased recycling of CDW. Make an analysis of the drivers and barriers and highlight relevant parameters and factors. 3. Present your suggestions and solutions to how the current CDW management can be improved from a SCM perspective to result in increased recycling rates and make the management more efficient. Work Extent & Conduction The thesis can start in September and should be carried out by two students working together. The work is suitable for students attending a M.Sc. programme in logistics or similar, but a mix where one student has competence in logistics whereas the second has an environmental profile is also highly encouraged. Reverse Logistics in the Construction and Demolition Waste Industry

Proposal for M.Sc. thesis:

Assignment & Goal1. Carry out a situation analysis of the current supply chain of CDW by performing a value stream mapping,

a literature review and interviewing stakeholders and experts within the architecture, engineering and construction industry, to increase the knowledge about the role of SCM in construction and demolition processes.

Work Extent & ConductionThe thesis can start in September and should be carried out by two students working together. The work is suitable for students attending a M.Sc. programme in logistics or similar, but a mix where one student hascompetence in logistics whereas the second has an environmental profile is also highly encouraged.
