Ok.Interviewer :

Well, first of all , where do you buy most of your food?Woman 1 :

At the local supermarket.Interviewer :

What is the main reason for shopping at the supermarket?Woman 1 :

It is easier and quicker than going to lots of small shops. You can get everything in one place .

Interviewer :Do you buy everything at the supermarket?

Woman 1 : No, we buy our fruit and vegetables at the market.

Interviewer :Why is that ?

Woman 1 :I think they are fresher and they taste better than supermarket fruit and vegetables.

Interviewer :Thank you.

Interviewer 2:Good morning. I am doing a food survey. Could I ask you some questions ?

Man : Certainly.Interviewer :

Thanks. Could you tell me where you buy most of your food?

Man : we buy different food in different places, but I would say we buy most in the local market.

Interviewer :Do you prefer the market to the supermarket?

The Chinese invented ice cream in the fourth century BC, using only two ingredients: snow and fruit juice. Centuries later, the Italian explorer Marco Polo brought it back to Europe , where it was immediately popular, However , It was not until the 19th century that it was produced in large quantities by American Jacob Fussell. In the summer of 1922, Thomas Wall, who had been the owner of a food company for many years, decided that his factory in London would start to make ice cream. The public loved it and soon the factory was making 700 litres of ice cream a week. Thomas Wall had not been expecting his ice cream to be so popular. At first, the ice cream was sold only in shops, but then Thomas Wall had another good idea. He bought a lot of special bicycles and put boxes of ice cream on the front with an advertisement which said " Stop me and Buy One " Wall's workers rode from street to street around London selling ice cream. By the late 1930 s , there were 8,500 bicycles selling ice cream around Britain.Ice Cream is not only eaten where the weather is hot . People in cold countries love it, too. In 2002, people in northern Europe ate 14 Litres each. It is surprising that the Italians , who are famous for their delicious ice cream, ate only nine litres each. However the people of New Zealand ate the most 22 litres each , and the Chinese , who invented ice cream ate only two litres!

Yes, if we go to the supermarket , it always takes us a long time to decide what to buy. In the market, there is less choice and most things are cheaper. so we save money and we spend less time shopping.

Interviewer : Thank you. That is very interesting.Interviewer 3 :

Good morning. we are doing a survey to find out where people buy their food. Would you mind answering a few questions?

Woman 2 : No, that is fine.Interviewer :

Ok. Can I start by asking you where you get most of your food?

Woman 2 :That is an interesting question. We have a small farm, so we produce a lot of our own food. We don't buy any fruit or vegetables – we grow all our own – it is organic and always fresh. We also keep chickens, so we never have to buy eggs.

Interviewer : What about butter and cheese?

Woman 2 : We have a few cows and goats, so we make our own.Interviewer : and milk?Woman 2 : Yes, of course.Interviewer : So, what do you buy from shops?Woman 2 : Things we don't grow ourselves like bread, rice , some of our meat.Interviewer :

And where do you buy these things?Woman 2 : The supermarket, mainly.Interviewer : Thanks very much.
