Review of Learning Process, Structures & Methodologies By IQAC 2013-14 Trainings & Achievements Conducted six Seminars/Conferences/workshops and FOUR conferences in the academic attracted UGC sponsorship. Based on this data special care is given to the slow learners and other deserving students. Periodical internal examinations are conducted. The results of the examination conducted in odd semester are intimated to parents by summoning a PTA meeting batch wise. Industrial visits are arranged for students to give the required industry exposure. 2014-15

IQAC supervises the initiatives for quality enhancements in the campus. Also associates and monitors

the conduct of healthy practices like value education and tutorial systems. Students feedbacks on class

room teaching is taken during each term and the analysis of the same is made available to the

respective teacher for further action.

Fitted LCD projectors in majority of the class rooms for enhanced learning experience. Subject blogs that

makes available study material online on various subjects were launched.

Subscribed to optical cable connection for faster Internet access.

Upgraded the facilities provided in the NRC centre that extends free browsing facilities for all the

students.

Conducted several pooled placement drives in the campus.

Actively organizes career guidance seminars on recent trends. Experts are invited to the campus to

create awareness on industry demands.

The college counseling cell imparts necessary guidance and counseling to the needy students identified

by the class teachers or when reported by the departments.

Several schemes are undertaken such as WWS, SSP, remedial classes, group discussions, theme based

lecture series, media seminars, workshops etc. for improving the students understanding in the subject

of study.

2015-16

The IQAC encourages the Heads of various Departments to analyze the University results in each

semester, instead of analyzing the statistics annually as done in previous years. A half yearly review

meeting in this regard was initiated by the IQAC to present the department wise statistics. This helps in

sensing early warning signals and to adopt corrective measures accordingly.

Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC :

Conducted one day academic audit and planning involving all teaching and non teaching staff.

Organized one day staff orientation programme.

Training programmes organized for students in all batches (UG & PG).

Initiated students centric support programmes such as WWS, SSP.

Conducted state level outreach programmes for higher secondary students.

Organized gender sensitization programmes in association with women cell.

Faculty members completed and submitted nine UGC minor research projects.

Issued guidelines to departments and cells for the scheduling the activities for the new

academic year.

AQAR 2015-16 was prepared and uploaded in college website.

Achievements

Formulated the action plan for departments and clubs.

Constituted an admission committee to help students and their parents.

IQAC conducted program wise result analysis and chalked out plans for overall result improvement.

Organized improvement classes for first years in English and IT, based on the assessment conducted in

September and October.

Two internal examinations were conducted per semester.

Organized IT Quiz, IT Fest, Film Fest, and exhibitions.

2017-18

This year key emphasis was given to cultivating research aptitude among students. To encourage the

students, Shristi Award is instituted to honor the best student project idea. Teachers were encouraged

time to time to attend maximum number of conferences and also to publish papers. Two faculties were

awarded PhD degree in Electronics this year by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

Major Activities

College website revamped to suit to the new requirements in dynamic form.

Encouraged teachers to engage in extended academic activities such as journal/book publications.

Initiated enrolment for NPTEL Certificate courses and proposed time slot for MOOC.

Took steps for simplifying TC issue process of students.

Organized regular IQAC and sub-committee meetings, where detailed discussion on

curricular and co-curricular aspects were done.

Took initiatives to commence Online Courses and ensured that several staff/ students enrolled.

Organized academic audit and retreat for introspection and future planning.

Conducted orientation for fresher’s at the time of Degree/PG course commencement.

Strengthened tutorial group system (Mentoring system).

Took initiatives for starting two peer reviewed Journals
