Teacher recommendation (very important)

Student passed Algebra I and Geometry*, but with

difficulty, possibly earning failing grades in one or more

grading periods and/or repeating one course.

Teacher recommendation (very important)

Student MUST have passed Algebra I and Geometry,

preferably without extreme difficulty (earning an

overall grade better than minimal passing)

* Math Models may NOT be taken concurrently with Algebra 2. However, the prerequisite for Math Models is Algebra 1, so Math

Models could be taken concurrently with Geometry. Math Models must be taken and passed prior to taking Algebra 2. As long as a

student has NOT earned credit for Algebra 2, Math Models may be taken and counted as one math credit for graduation on the 4 x 4.

**College courses have to completely cover the TEKS for one of the courses allowable as a 4th

year math course. Students enrolled

in dual credit may earn a fourth math credit for the course that covers the TEKS for Independent Study in Mathematics. (See TEKS
