The Contract Price for our QTA, SG, SD, MG, and MD Models includes a "Heavy-Duty Maximum Performance Package",to ensure that you are able to operate and to accomplish your mission, even in an emergency that takes out utility power. Generac’s base model incorporates a long list of

equipment that may only be optional on other brands, and our Package adds major upgrades and essential accessories to better serve your needs. If these items had to be

purchased and installed after-market, it would be far more expensive and in the meantime, the User would be lacking the additional protection. See the tables on the following

pages for more information on what is included in our Package that may not be standard elsewhere.

Heavy Duty Maximum Performance Package Feature Descriptions for Generac Models QTA, SG, SD, MG and MD

Factory-installed. When the engine is running, this allows the operation of a safety alarm or indicator, as well as the operation of other equipment,

such as cooling louvers.

Factory-installed, high-capacity, dual-rate battery charger. This uses utility power to keep the battery charged even when the generator is not running.

“Critical-grade exhaust silencer” - much quieter than Industrial grade or even Residential grade. Installed within the housing, for additional quieting and

for best appearance.

A fuel-level sender included to show how much fuel is in the diesel tank, helping to avoid running out of fuel when you really need it. (Diesel only)

Strength of magnetic field, for voltage adjustment. Brushless Excitation eliminates the brush sparking in direct excitation, reducing safety hazards in

some areas. Excitation is provided by a static system, requiring much less maintenance, and is automatically removed whenever the motor is out of

step. Permanent Magnet Excitation provides sustained short circuit current for breaker coordination, increases motor starting capabilities, and enhances

performance when load-induced harmonics are present.

With built-in thermostat. When temperatures fall below an acceptable level, the thermostat activates the battery warmer maintaining optimum battery

temperature for the best generator starting. Battery may require replacement more frequently.

Necessary for the installation of the non-diesel generators in Sections 1-4. Prevents damage from vibration and movement.

Included are freight charges to any loading dock accessible by tractor trailer via land only in the 48 contiguous States. All deliveries are FOB destination

with all transportation and handling charges paid by Better Power. Delivery dates are estimated and cannot be guaranteed. Unloading, inside delivery,

rigging, storage, and installation are not included.

A starting, high-capacity battery with factory installation is included with our Heavy Duty Maximum Performance Package.

Enclosure to protect the generator from the weather, lockable to deter vandalism. Finished with highly-durable textured powder-coat paint that provides

consistent coverage and better bonding to seams and exposed edges providing durability and a long-lasting, tough finish.

Keeps diesel fuel flowing easily in cold weather so that the starting motor is able to start the generator even if the temperature goes below minus 20

degrees F. Helps propane or natural gas maintain proper vapor pressure.

Factory-installed and UL-Listed. Stops the wires from overheating before they can cause a fire or other safety hazard, and is required to meet UL2200.

Our Tech Support includes the experience of Better Power and factory technicians.

Generator as a whole is UL2200 Listed, and includes the equipment necessary, when properly installed, to qualify for the stringent NFPA 110 Level 1

Life Safety applications of the National Fire Protection Association.

Natural gas or propane (whichever is ordered) operation, clean-burning for fewer exhaust emissions. No diesel odor, no need for expensive double-

walled diesel tanks, no diesel fuel maintenance requirements, and no risk of environmental liability from diesel fuel spills. Natural gas can also eliminate

refueling concerns, because natural gas is constantly supplied through the pipeline.

Sized for a minimum of 24 hour run-time between re-fuelings (usually 24" deep), sub-base fuel tank mounts under the generator and includes the

emergency vent that is required for safety. These fuel tanks are double-wall tanks for extra protection against leaks that could trigger a HazMat

cleanup, and are UL142-Listed.

The Environmental Protection Agency establishes emissions requirements for generators. All of our Generac generators comply with EPA requirements

and are EPA certified.

Heavy Duty Maximum Performance Package Feature Descriptions for Generac Models QTA, SG, SD, MG and MD

Standard vibration isolators virtually eliminate transmission of vibration from the unit to the mounting surface.

Generator functions are constantly monitored through a protective system that features solid state circuitry for reliability and long life. NFPA 110

required warnings and alarms provide alerts for a variety of safety and operational concerns. The system automatically shuts down in response to

certain critical conditions such as high engine temperature, low coolant level, etc. All generators with PowerManager control systems meet NFPA 110

requirements for warnings, alarms and alerts.

Constant speed control provides faster response to block loads and more consistent output frequency. All generators utilizing PowerManager control

systems feature an isochronous governor.

With 21 indicator lights. Mounts inside an office showing in real time whether everything is functioning correctly or if something needs attention.

Required to meet NFPA-110. Surface mounting will be supplied unless recessed mounting is specified.

State of the art digital control of the generator. Full system monitoring, sensors, indicators and trouble shutdowns.

UL Listing verifies the kilowatt ratings of our generators and is your assurance that Generac standby systems meet safety, endurance, and performance

standards.

Closed, pressurized system virtually eliminates the introduction of air into the cooling system. Rust and fluid acidity are minimized, resulting in longer

engine life.

Generac's wire harness design with waterproof connectors assures reliable, repeatable interconnection between circuit components. Special sealed

connectors protect against moisture, dust and environmental damage.

Generac's revolving field alternators are fully insulated and self ventilating. They feature higher temperature Class H insulation, but are designed to

operate at lower Class F temperature levels for longer life. Oversized alternators are available on many models for additional motor starting capacity.

Provides the ultimate in engine protection. The magnetic pickup senses overspeed, automatically shuts down the engine, disconnects the starter motor

and prevents re-engagement. The system also provides cyclic cranking for improved starting reliability, and cranking termination for started motor

protection.

Solid-state frequency-compensated voltage regulation that provides fast, optimized response to changing load conditions. Maximum motor starting

capability is assured by electronically torque-matching the surge loads to the engine.

After installation, a technician visits your site for several hours to verify that installation was done according to factory requirements, to test many

parameters, adjust them for best performance, and to validate the Warranty. NOT INCLUDED WITH BASE MODEL.

Training for the staff in basic operation and maintenance of the generator, during the Start Up site visit by a factory authorized technician. NOT

INCLUDED WITH BASE MODEL.

Generac Modular Power Systems (MPS) Multiple Generator Combinations

MPS combines the output of multiple smaller gensets to provide power from 100 - 9000 kW without the addition of expensive switchgear.

MPS allows you to accommodate potential growth. Simply buy the system you need today and easily add gensets as your

power needs increase. No need to replace the entire system or purchase a large system that might never be required.

MPS provides redundant backup for greater system reliability.

MPS allows individual gensets to be taken offline for service without losing coverage of the critical load.

MPS gensets can be separated and are light enough for roof mounting, so you can take better advantage of available space.

Fuel Options: Gaseous: 100 - 4500kW. Diesel: 300 - 9000kW. Combination: 300 - 9000kW.

Enclosure: MG and MD Units are priced with Outdoor Weather enclosure. Upgrades to Sound Attenuated are available per unit.

Pricing: When buying just one unit the Base model (denoted - b ) is required. If buying two or more units; 1 base model and the corresponding

number of expansion units (denoted - e ) are required for ordering.

MPS combination requirements: MG100-200 and MD300-400 can all be mixed and matched together within the same voltage - (Gaseous and Diesel).

Examples - these are a few of the many possible combinations:

model incorporates a long list of equipment that may only be optional on other brands, and our Package adds major upgrades and essential accessories to

better serve your needs. If these items had to be purchased and installed after-market, it would be far more expensive and in the meantime, the User would

be lacking the additional protection. See the table below for more information on what is included in our Package that may not be standard elsewhere.

Generac Standby Permanent Generators - Base ModelsWhere They Work and Where They DON’T Work

The Base Models are VERY BASIC generators that generate the rated kilowatts of power – BUT ONLY IN CERTAIN SPECIAL SITUATIONS described in the list below.

Almost all Contract Users should buy the corresponding Contract Model from sections 1 - 4 & 7 of the Price List. These other (non-Base) Contract Models include the equipment and services

necessary for the following:

1. To make it as certain as possible that the generator WILL work in that emergency situation where it MUST work.

2. To avoid problems for Users, some of whom have discovered the hard way that they should have ordered the regular Contract Model package.

3. To have confidence that engineers who have specialized in generators for many years have specified the right equipment for almost all applications, which may save you the delays

and expense of the bid process.

4. Several of the complete Contract Models are heavy-duty enough to meet the Life Safety Code, NFPA-110. To see if your application is covered by the Life Safety Code, please see

page 2 for the list of Life Safety concerns in the overall Table of Contents.

Base Model can only be used where other excitation methods do not cause a problem. DC Direct Excitation is a high-maintenance method and doesn’t handle high

current well. Brushless (Shunt) Excitation amplifies harmonic distortion from computers and other electronics.

Base Model can only be used where the temperature stays warm, and for non-Life Safety applications. A block heater is needed to keep the diesel fuel flowing in

the winter so that the starting motor is able to start the generator easily.

Base Model can only be used in an indoor location with ventilation louvers where a Professional Engineer has certified that the ventilation is adequate to cool the

generator, and that the fumes from fuel and exhaust will not infiltrate the building. The generator is also significantly louder than those with a housing, and you

will not have the ability to lock the generator to deter vandalism. More than 99% of generator users install their generator outdoors.

Base Model can only be used where the temperature stays warm, and for NON-Life Safety applications.

The items listed below are NOT included for the Base Model, but ARE included for the Contract Models in Sections 1-4 for our Contract Packages. The list below is for the diesel models. For a full

listing of features that are in the various Contract Models, see page 3 of this Price List.

Base Model installers must be very experienced with generators to do their own Start Up, and will have no one checking their work. Start Up also includes

warranty validation, so the buyer of a base model who wants a warranty will have to pay for Start Up Services.

Operating and maintenance crews must study the literature and know how to operate and take care of generators.

Base Model is missing the items that ensure the greater reliability that is required for the applications listed on page 3 in the overall Table of Contents.

Base Model can only be used where User has his own separate fuel tank. The Base Model does not include the Contract Package 24-hour fuel tank mounted under

the generator, and is also missing the emergency vent that is required for safety.

Do NOT buy these models unless you are certain that you have one of these special situations. Generators are not returnable. Once you have proven to yourself that the “Base Model” pricing is

much better than other vendors, you can order the complete Contract Model with confidence. The specifications/features in the complete Contract Model are listed on page 3 of the Table of

Contents at the beginning of the entire pricelist. See the Generac Equipment Package comparison page 3.

Base Model can only be used in NON-Life Safety applications, because the Remote Annunciator Panel is required for NFPA-110 Life Safety Code. With the Base

Model, the User has to remember to go out to the generator and lift the lid to see whether everything is working right at that moment. Without this panel you

could have decreased reliability and increased repair expense -- the panel is mounted in your office to give you an immediate indication that generator functions

are not within specs, so immediate corrective action can be taken before breakdown.

Base Model can only be used where there is no safety alarm or indicator or other equipment to operate, such as cooling louvers.

Base Model can only be used where a long exhaust-pipe run can act as a muffler.

Base Model is for applications where there is no built-in fuel tank, so the User must supply the fuel gauge for his own fuel tank.
