President’s Report by Peter McCarthy Dear friends,

I hope you are all well – physically & mentally – during this COVID-19 global pandemic. We’ve all taken a hit during these unprecedented times – some more than others. Lives & livelihoods have been turned upside down. Some things will not return to how they were pre coronavirus. . . hopefully, through it all, we’ve come to an even greater appreciation of the gift of life, & how truly blessed we are to live here in Australia, & drive FX & FJ Holdens.

As we begin to get glimpses of the light at the end of the tunnel (hopefully not a locomotive coming in the opposite direction), we are planning to have our first post COVID get together on Sunday 5th July at Nudgee Beach (which is on the Northside). The plan is to meet there in the park on the foreshore 9:45-10:00am, where we will social distance over a B.Y.O. morning tea, a club meeting, culminating in a Chucky lunch (more details inside).

The good news continues having received the green light from the Redcliffe Golf Club (which is also on the Northside) to host our Christmas in July lunch on Sunday 26th July (see upcoming events). For catering purposes, please rsvp by 17th July.

All the EOFY (end of financial year) sales is a timely reminder that Membership renewals & fees are now due. Even better news is that membership fees for the next 12 months (only) have been reduced to $20 as the club’s way of helping everyone a little. This is despite the club still having ongoing expenses such as rental of the Rocklea clubhouse, public liability insurance, Chucky’s rego, etc. Thanks to those who have already paid. We would be most grateful if those who are yet to pay, could attend to this matter at your earliest convenience.

Until next month, continue to spread joy, not germs!
