How does Rewire work?

The approach we take with Rewire is simple. First, we get to know you and your family, learn about your injury, and understand what you want to achieve. Then, we work with you to design a tailored therapy program that matches your unique goals and circumstances.

Sessions can be held at a Rewire Hub, your home, or out in the community.

Goals and needs often change, so your therapy program is highly flexible and can be adjusted at any time.

EligibilityIn order to receive therapy services from BISA you need to meet the following criteria:

z Be aged 16 or over

z Have an acquired brain injury (ABI)

z Have a funding source

Funding sources include the NDIS, Lifetime Support Scheme, RTWSA, and insurance agencies. We are also registered to provide services through Medicare.

Acquired brain injury (ABI) refers to any damage to the brain that occurs after birth. Such damage can result from accidents, stroke, brain tumours, infection, poisoning, lack of oxygen, and degenerative neurological disease (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, Canberra, 2012).
