What are we selling? Access to RFMD’s Process Technology & Manufacturing

• RFMD develops and owns the process technology • this is RFMD’s IP run in the fab and what the designers, whether RFMD or outside, design on.

• The Customer submits designs • this is their IP that is the circuitry of their end product.

• RFMD provides the Customer with a Process Design Kit • this is proprietary software with design rules associated with our process technology, it is the tool in which the

Customer will design their product with; ADS or AWR

• The Customer will then submit back to RFMD their GDS files • this is their product layout.

• RFMD will do a design rule check and if clean, will submit for a maskset• glass plates of the Customer’s design, this is what is referred to as tapeout.

• RFMD processes Customer’s order, manufacture and deliver wafers or dieAdditional Services Available, quoted on an individual basis:

• Back-end services, :• RF probe testing on production wafers• Die picking• Packaging • Packaged part testing• DC and RF Environmental and Reliability testing

FSBU Sales Strategy

• Target Customers: Seek RF defense and commercial power component manufacturers and other manufacturers with device design capability including contractors as well as direct competitors of RFMD. RFMD is an open foundry, no customers are excluded.

• Sales Channels: All MPG Reps and Resellers are now covered under their current contracts to sell Foundry Services. Commissions will be paid on prototype and production orders. Due to the nature of Foundry Services, the Foundry Services Business Team will support the leads provided by Reps and Resellers; all orders will be placed RFMD direct with on-going communications maintained by our Reps and Resellers.

• Export Compliance: Export licensing may be required for international sales. Contact the business unit (Tami Freeman) for support.

Firewall is rigorously implemented

• Separate Foundry organization• Reports to President of MPG

• Separate from product groups

• No sharing of information about customers

• Mask sets and Layout data• Seen only by FSBU staff and Fab personnel

• Stored on separate servers not available to company access

• Never mix customer and product group designs on MP wafers

• Customer secure website• FSBU staff only for both main site and customer specific site

• Customer assigned code name

FSBU welcomes any competitor as a customer!!
