Lord of the Flies Illustrated Archetypes An archetype is “an original model after which similar things are patterned.” In literature, archetypes are types of characters that occur universally. For the characters pictured below, decide which archetype they most resemble, and state why. Realize that a character in a novel may have aspects of more than one archetype.
