A Rialto Unified memo listing the members of the Cultural Diversity Committee and the plan of action for their inaugural meeting on July 31, 2014. In March, the district garnered international headlines when the Los Angeles News Group broke the news that the district's 2,000 eighth graders had been given an in-class essay assignment to argue whether or not the Holocaust occurred. The assignment included giving students pages printed out from a Holocaust denial website, which was labeled a "credible source."
