Industrial Flooring: The Generic Resins and their Real Life Performance
Assessment Report-RecommendationsRiba Approved CPD – AcryliCon Web-site
Learning objectives• Why we specify/buy Industrial Floors
• When does a floor fail
• The different types of resin on the market
• The performance characteristics of each resin type
• Whole life pricing analysis
• Environmental impact of resins
Why Specify/Buy an Industrial Floor?• Look good (easy to clean)• Hygienic (easy to clean)• Protect the substrate• Slip resistant• Long lasting with minimal repairs
When does a floor fail?
How long should a floor last?
• When it fails to perform any of the above properties
• At least 10 years

Environment• Acrylicon can be recycled (if you can remove it from the floor!)• Acrylicon is completely non-toxic
• When burnt Acrylicon gives off Carbon and Water Steam. This is unlike PU which gives off Isocyanides and Epoxy which gives off Nitrous Gases.

Remember to check references. If they claim a floor will last over 5 years, ask to see one.
