Director’s Note

Greetings!

Welcome to Ridge Community High School’s 5th musical production. Since our opening in 2005, Ridge Community has strived to challenge our students to create high quality theatrical experiences that chal-lenge, move, and inspire. This year’s musical is the embodiment of our theatre department’s mission and vision!

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opened in the West End in 1973 and later on Broadway in 1982. The story follows closely the biblical account written in Genesis and theologians trace the story back to five religious traditions including Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

Like Joseph, many of us have our own dreams that we have aspired to see come to fruition. Like any vision or dream, each has their own ups and downs. Joseph finds himself sold into slavery because of the jeal-ousy of his brothers and wrongfully imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. Through it all, however, he never lost the vision of the dream he had to one day be seated in a place of royalty with power and influ-ence.

I reminded each of our young artists to discover the dream in their own hearts and to never back down from seeing it come to pass. Though our dreams will be tested and tried, we can all learn from Joseph that we too can accomplish great things if we remain positive and never stop believing in our abilities to overcome disappointment and failure.

Enjoy the show!

The Cast and Crew would like to extend a special thanks to our administration!

A Message from our Principal

Dear Guests:

It is indeed an honor to welcome you to Ridge Community High School for our presentation of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We are truly blessed to have such a talented and dedi-cated group of actors, stage technicians, musicians, dancers and staff sponsors. Our Fine Arts department has played a significant role on our campus for many years. Many long hours were devoted by all of them to bring this production to the stage. This year we are honored to include many talented students from Davenport School of the Arts as part of the production. We thank them and the staff and administration of Davenport SOTA. We also thank all of the parents of the students involved in this performance.

We are proud of all of our student organizations and all of the ac-

complishments RCHS has achieved over the last 10 years. It is with

an admission of bias that I claim that we have the best high school

students and staff in the county. Please enjoy this wonderful musi-

cal production. It is just one more example of our belief that at

Ridge Community High School, “We are the brightest. We are the

best. We ARE the BOLTS!”

Enjoy the show!
