Renaissance Rescue Ranch is locatedon HWY 0 near Farmington, Missouri.The rescue facility is home to morethan 60 retired thoroughbred horsesthat were injured or not fast enoughin their racing careers. Some are asyoung as 2 years old and some as oldas 30+. Our facility has horses fromall over the country. Most of ourhorses are from the FairmontRacetrack which is located just eastof St. Louis, Missouri. We also havea couple of Team Valor horses. Theranch has some special needs horses,including 2 blind horses. We are a ‘nokill’ facility that believes horses havegiven so much to humans that we owethem a second chance. December 2014 Lesson Calendar

Want to make your favorite horsea christmas treat… Here is a greatrecipe from Mary Gardner.

Ingredients

1 cup oatmeal

1 cup flour

1 Tbs sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup molasses

1/4 cup water

1 cup shredded carrots or apples

mini candy canes

Directions

Preheat oven at 350 degrees.

Mix all ingredients in bowl, except

candy canes.

Once mixed, roll into small balls.

Place balls onto greased cookie

sheets.

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden

brown.

After they are baked, top with candy canes

while still hot. After cooling, wrap 2 or 3 in

ribbon.
