The Problem with a watch The Goal

• No implicit way to see time.

• Inconvenient to use in certain weather conditions.

• Doesn’t balance minimalism with functionality.

• Device must tell time in a minimal, implicit fashion.

• Should be simple and accessible.

• Balance function and efficiency.

The question is …

How to tell time implicitly in a social setting…

…without making those around us feel uncomfortable?

Current scenarioswhere knowing the time in an

implicit fashion is difficult.

Classroom Meetings Difficulty in knowing time when multiple

layers of clothing are obscuring the wrist.

Can a ring make implicit time telling easier? If so, how?

Example scenario

John arrives to the meeting.

Double-taps his ring to view the

exact time.

While in the meeting, the ring is in sleep mode and subtly

indicates the time in 15 min quarters

through vibration and the coloured dots.

Future strategy

Running and fitness tracker.

Sleep monitor. Customisation through companion smartphone app.
