Welcome

3

With a growing interest in outdoor living, in late 2011 we commenced design and development of the Bahama Gas Fire Table under Prima Industries Ltd. In June 2012 the Bahama was launched at RHS Tatton Park with great success.

The Bahama was further refined and the first models were installed in late 2012. In response to the demand for the Bahama Gas Fire Table, we expanded our range of Sheffield made outdoor gas fire tables until it became natural to form a new brand which embodies the quality, engineering and design that goes into each Rivelin fire.

The Rivelin brand was officially launched in Sheffield in May 2014.

Taking inspiration from around the globe, we combine craftsmanship with the latest technology to produce levels of beauty and precision that can’t be found elsewhere.

Madrid takes Centre Stage

The Madrid gas fire table was recently chosen for a Warrington based garden renovation as the centre piece of a socialising area. Built from heavy gauge powder coated stainless steel and a substantial granite top the Madrid strikes a pose in any garden setting. With an 18kw gas burner at the heart of the table, the heat and warm orange glow emanating from the table creates an atmosphere around which people socialise until the early hours of the morning.

Working closely with the customer, the Madrid was installed and up and running within 2 hours of delivery. Like the Bahama, the Madrid can be upgraded to include under table white or RGB LED’s and a stainless steel pull out storage drawer.

Case Study (Bespoke Gas Fire Table)Working from a sketch, this unusual shaped fire table was first created in 3D software SolidWorks before creating drawings and renders for client approval. The shape of the table was designed to mirror the bespoke seating already installed.

Constructed from a subframe of 4mm stainless steel and clad in 4mm stainless panels the fire table has at its heart 2 x 18kw LPG gas burners. The base was welded, dressed and powder coated in RAL9005 black.

To complete the design, hand made ceramic pebbles, removable toughened glass windshield, nero assuluto black granite top and aluminium lids were included.

Dimensions2115mm (Length) x 1060mm (Width) x 450mm (Height) .

What’s behind CE approval? We are often asked “Can I use a gas burner imported from America for use in Europe?” The straight answer is that it depends on whether the burner/appliance has been CE approved. Within Europe only CE approved products should be legally imported, sold and installed. The USA has different test standards to Europe and it is highly unlikely that a burner purchased in the USA is CE approved. It is the responsibility of the importer/distributor and the gas installer to ensure that that they are selling and installing only CE approved units.

CE approval includes not only testing the burner/appliance for combustion, it also includes ensuring that the Instruction Manual is clear in the use and limitations of the appliance, ensuring that it is safely installed. As well as testing the combustion at the working pressures used within Europe; which can differ from other areas including the USA; the decorative ceramics that sit on top of the burner have to be tested to ensure they don’t adversley affect the combustion.

In the case of Rivelins PF50 burner which is used at the heart of many of our gas fire tables, the toughened safety glass wind shield was tested for shock resistance by splashing with water when hot and for impact resistance by hitting with a sharp hammer of defined load.

Once all the tests are performed, a technical file has to be produced detailing how the appliance/burner is fabricated to ensure it is made the same way time after time. Coupled with annual surveillance to ensure compliance, CE marking is a costly excercise and not for the faint hearted.

Fire tables are a very practical alternative to feature fire pits. The customer will benefit from warmth, ambiance and at approx 50cm high, the granite table top is perfect for drinks or food.

Suitable for both commercial and domestic applications the Bahama is truly a versatile gas fire table.

For this restaurant garden in Marlow, Essex the designer wanted to add atmosphere and light to encourage customers to remain longer. The original brief was a 1 off square fire pit clad on all sides in a white veined granite. The unit was designed and rendered with the chosen granite. Subsequent to the render, the designer requested an even larger fire feature to increase the visual impact. With costs increasing, the client asked for a visualisation of the same granite on a Bahama Gas fire Table.

Following the render, it was decided that the most economical route was to incorporate 3 Bahama Gas Fire tables in place of an individual fire feature. The result is stunning as can be seen from the photos. The fire tables have created a warm and cosy atmosphere around which customers can enjoy their evening.

With its stunning granite or ceramic top and amazing attention to detail, the Bahama gas fire table is the perfect focal point for any outdoor seating area. With a base made from 4mm powder coated stainless steel and available in a variety of RAL colours, the Bahama is truly a sight to behold.

With attention to detail being at the heart of every Rivelin fire, the Bahama comes with a 4 piece removable toughened glass wind shield, a 316 marine grade stainless steel lid to cover the fire pit when not in use and an all weather cover to protect the table from debris during the winter.

Because all Bahama fire tables are made to order, we can tailor the Bahama to complement your scheme.

With optional upgrades including a pullout drawer incorporating an ice bucket and under table LED’s, take a closer look at the Bahama for your next project.

Technology Feature

All Rivelin fires tables are available with a removable glass windshield unique to Rivelin. They are designed to reduce the effect wind has on the burner without interfering with the aesthetics of the table. The installation and removal of the glass windshield is quick and simple. The windshield is ideal for commercial establishments or with the young or infirm.

Safety Glass Wind Shield

Pre-aerated BurnersAll Rivelin gas fires are supplied with pre-aerated burners. This means that before the LPG or natural gas is combusted, it is pre mixed with primary air. This mixing process ensures that the combustion process is as clean as is practically possible whilst still maintaining a yellow tipped flame required for an aestheticlly pleasing product. This clean combustion process ensures:• The gas is burnt efficiently producing as much heat as is possible. • The gas burns cleanly ensuring that even on LPG, our white pebbles remain clean

after extended periods of time.

Not all outdoor gas burners employ this technology, the result is the typical very yellow flame exhibited by most outdoor fires particularly those running on LPG. This very yellow flame inevitably leads to black soot deposits on the lava rock or pebbles covering the burner. If you are looking for a clean running outdoor burner, insist on it being pre aerated. If it is not available with white pebbles then ask yourself “Why?”
