Dear Members: One of my first duties upon becoming President was to reluctantly accept the resignation of our newest Tour Escort, Carolyn Chamberlain. Although Carolyn’s tenure as a Tour Escort has been brief, she has come up with some great tours. One of her first tours was to Medieval Times, an event I have wanted to experience for years. Finally I was able to see the pageantry of the knights and their magnificent horses thanks to Carolyn (with an able assist from Beth Richards after Carolyn broke her ankle.) I will not forget the spectacle. But Carolyn was just not a one-tour pony. She also planned for Christmas at Riley’s Farm with the assistance of Mollie Johnson. As I write this report, two more trips planned by Carolyn are coming up: One to the IMAX Theater at the California Science Center and one to see The Hound of the Baskervilles at the Haugh Performance Arts Centre at Citrus College. Mollie and Beth will be working on these two tours. I hope you will be joining us and have a great time. I must also knowledge how grateful we are that Beth and Mollie were willing to step up to fulfill the promise of Carolyn’s dreams. As you can see, we will miss Carolyn and her ability to come up with great ideas. So if you know of someone who might like to volunteer as a tour escort, please let us know. Barbara Purvis, President
