Robert "bobby" DuranSeptember 2, 1942 - March 12, 2015

Jose Roberto Duran Jr. also known as Bobby Duran passed away on Thursday,March 12, 2015 in Chandler, Arizona.

He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, September 2, 1942 to Robert and EpifaniaDuran.

He is survived by his wife Henrietta Duran, son, Robert Duran III (Christine), daughters,Amadee Duran, Adrianne Coco Duran,

Angelique Kiki Medina (David), Andrea Duran (Steve Whitley), Brother,Manny Duran (Valerie) sister, Patricia Duran.

Grandchildren, Robert Duran IV, Devyn Duran, Preslie Gonzales, AlexaMedina, Liana Vigil, Leticia Vigil, Julio Vigil, Collin Whitley, James AustinWhitley, Joell Whitley, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bobby attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated in 1961 wherehe played Basketball and was an outstanding Baseball player under Coach NickDi Dominico.

This is where his love for sports began.

He was an avid sports fan and he followed all New Mexico sports, especially NewMexico Highlands University, East and West Las Vegas, and of course hisfavorite Dallas Cowboys.

He was united in marriage to Henrietta Duran on February 8, 1964.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army National Guard for 7 years.

Bobby and his brother Manny operated La Fiesta Night Club and La FiestaPackage Liquors and Lounge, they were also partners in Durans Used Carfor over forty years.

He retired as a Bus Driver for Las Vegas City Schools.

Bobby loved traveling and made it a point to visit every place his family wasliving, he enjoyed his most recent travels to China and Arizona and was planninga trip to Hawaii.

He loved learning and his favorite term had become Google it.

He Googled everything, from the daily weather to the latest vitamin trend.

He exercised daily and encouraged everyone to do so. He also enjoyed keeping

in touch with friends and relatives.

He had a daily routine of going to coffee at McDonalds, Franken Tire though hestarted his morning coffee at Hillcrest with the coffee club:

Albert Goke, Nick Romero, Nappo Lovato, Rudy Roybal, John Schuster, BillySanchez, Horace Lucero, Alfred Nelson, Phil Leger, Tony Ortega, Joe Delgado,Gene Pacheco, Abel Lucero, and Travis Regensberg.

Serving as Pall Bearers will be Napoleon Napi Duran, Rudy Roybal, IgnacitoTrujillo, Lonnie Marquez, Tommy Duran, Horace Lucero, Ben Cortez, CarlosGallegos, Robert Duran IV, John Tate Fernandez and Charles Rudolph.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the St. Laurence Fund for the poor at ImmaculateConception Church, 811 6th St. Las Vegas, New Mexico 87701, in honorof Bobby Duran.
