The two teams met earlier this season in Pittsburgh, Pa. where they would split a weekend series. Each team would win a one-goal game as Connecticut took the Fri-day evening contest by a score of 3-2 before Robert Morris would rebound with a 4-3 victory in game two of the series. The Colonials are 5-1-0 against the Huskies including a 2-0-0 record on the road.

LAST TIME OUTThis past weekend, the Colonials swept Sacred Heartinafirst-roundseriesoftheAtlanticHock-ey playoffs. In a series that pitted the #5 Colonials against the #12 Pioneers, Robert Morris would with both games by at least three goals. In game one on Friday night, the Colonials would net three first-period goals as they would win by a scoreof 4-1. Goals from Jeff Jones, Greg Gibson, Adam Brace, and the game winner from Mac Roy would be the offense that led RMU to victory. Game two would see RobertMorris score five unansweredgoals to take the game by a score of 6-1 on Satur-day to sweep the best-of-three series. After being tiedwith thePioneers, 1-1, after thefirstperiodof play with a goal by Colin South; the remaining two periods were all RMU. The Colonials woul get goals from Tyler Hinds, Matt Cope, Greg Gibson, and two from Cody Wydo to put the game away. Goaltender Eric Levine would pick up his 18th and 19th wins of the season while allowing just two goals in the series.

ABOUT ROBERT MORRISThe Colonials are averaging 3.17 goals per game while the team has allowed an average of 2.69 goals per game to their opponents. Eric Levine sitsfirstall-timeincareersavepercentage(.926),career goals-against average (2.66) and career shutouts (5). Levine’s four shutouts this season has the goaltender third in the NCAA with seven other netminders. Adam Brace leads Robert Mor-ris with 26 assists and 40 points while the senior is closing in on 50 career goals as he needs four goals to reach the milestone. Cody Wydo has scored a team-high 19 goals this season as the sophomore closes surpassed 50 career points in just 70 career games played. Both Brace andWydo sit first inthenationwithfiveotherskatersasbothoftheforwards scoring three shorthanded goals this season.Wydo’sfivegame-winninggoalsthissea-son has him just one away from the NCAA lead as he currently sits in seventh place with six other skaters. Senior Brendan Jamison was named one ofthetenfinalistsfortheSeniorCLASSAwardforthe2012-2013season.Jamison,thefirstnativeofPittsburgh to be named captain of the Colonials, currently sits sixth in the fan portion of the vot-ing that ends March 25. A trio of Robert Morris se-niors - Adam Brace, Zach Hervato, and Eric Levine - were nominated for the Hobey Baker Award as college hockey’s best player. Fan voting on the preliminary ballot concluded on March 10. The Colonials have dedicated this season to former captain Chris Kushneriuk who is currently bat-tling cancer. Robert Morris has partnered with theBakersfieldCondorsandtheWheelingNailersof the ECHL to raise awareness for men’s cancer and help Chris with his current battle. Together, the teams have raised over $20,000 to benefitKushneriuk.

THE ATLANTIC HOCKEY PLAYOFFSFinishing the regular season with an overall re-cord of 18-12-4, the Colonials finished in fifthplace with a conference record of 13-11-3 which wasgoodenoughfor29points.Asthefifthseed,Robert Morris will hit the road to take on fourth-seeded Connecticut this weekend. In the firstround of the playoffs, all of the home teams swpet theirseriestomoveontothequarterfinals.Allofthe eight remaining teams will be in action for the quarterfinalsastop-seededNiagarahostsRIT,AirForce will see Canisius travel out to Colorado, and the third-seeded Holy Cross Crusaders will have Mercyhurst travel eastward. The four winners willallmeetinRochester,N.Y.fortheAHAsemifi-nals and championship next weekend.

SCOUTING CONNECTICUTThe Connecticut Huskies finished with a recordof 17-13-4 in the 2012-2013 season and a record of 14-10-3 against Atlantic Hockey opponents. TheHuskiesfinishedfourthintheAHAstandingsmanaging 31 points. Connecticut is averaging 2.74 goals per game while allowing its opponents to score an average of 2.53 goals per game. The Huskies have scored on 27 of their 149 power play opportunities (18.1 percent) while they have suc-cessfully killed 125 of their 144 penalties taken (19 goals allowed, 86.8 percent success rate). Senior Sean Ambrosie leads the Huskies with 21 assists and 31 points. Junior Brant Harris paces Connecticut with 14 goals in the regular season. Two goalies have split time in net for the Huskies even though senior Matt Grogan has emerged as the top netminder for Connecticut. Grogan has a record of 12-3-3 this season with a goals-against average of 1.86 and a .941 save percentage. Also seeing time in net for the Huskies has been Gar-rett Bartus who has gone 5-10-1 this season with a 3.00 goals-against average and a .909 save per-centage.

SERIES VS. THE HUSKIESRobertMorriswillmeetConnecticutforthefirsttime in the Atlantic Hockey playoffs although the two teams have met six times in regular season action. All-time, the Colonials are 5-1-0 against the Huskies as all but Connecticut did pick up theirfirstwinagainstRMUthis season inPitts-burgh, Pa. The first meeting between the twoteams came as Robert Morris made the move to Atlantic Hockey for the 2010-2011 season. The Colonials would win the first fourmeetings be-tweentheteamsbeforedroppingthefirstoftwomeetings this season as RMU responded by win-ning the second game against the Huskies.

THIS SEASON AGAINST THE HUSKIESRobert Morris hosted Connecticut in a two-game series in the middle of January before heading out on a four-game road trip. The Colonials and Hus-kies would split the weekend series as Connecti-cut won Friday, 3-2, before RMU took the game on Saturday by a score of 4-3. On Friday, Connecti-cut would jump out to a 2-0 lead before the Colo-nials would get on the scoreboard. Adam Brace would pick up the frist goal for RMU less than two minutes in to the third period. The Huskies would add a third goal before Cody Wydo netted a short-handed goal with ten minutes remaining in the third to make the score 3-2. On Saturday, Connecticut would open the scoring before Greg Gibsonwouldtiethegameinthefirstperiod.TheHuskies would regain the lead before the end of thefirstperiod. CodyWydowould tie thegameagain less than a minute in to the second period. Adam Brace would pick up a short-handed goal as RobertMorristookitsfirstleadofthegame,3-2.Before the end of the second period, Connecticut would tie the game, 3-3. The lone goal of the third period would come from David Friedmann with seven minutes remaining in the period to give Robert Morris the 4-3 advantage that would stick for the victory.

HOSTING THE FROZEN FOURThe NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Committee has chosen the city of Pittsburgh as the site of the 2013 NCAA Frozen Four with Robert Morris University serving as the host institution in con-junction with VisitPittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Penguins. CONSOL Energy Center will host the event on April 11-13, 2013 with the event marking firstNCAADivisionIMen’sIceHockeyChampi-onship event held in the state of Pennsylvania. It willbethefirstmajorteamsportinNCAAhistoryto conduct its national championship in the city of Pittsburgh. Credential applications for the NCAA Regionals and the Frozen Four are now be-ing accepted on www.ncaa.com/media

BOBBY MO BROSThe Robert Morris hockey team joined forces with the RMU men’s lacrosse team to raise money and awareness for men’s cancer during the month of November. During the month, mem-bers of both squads grew and sported mous-taches as a part of “Movember” and raised nearly $15,000. Spearheading the movement was the news that former captain Chris Kushneriuk had been diagnosed with testicular cancer. The Robert Morris hockey team will continue their fundraising efforts throughout the season in support of Kushneriuk and his current battle.

WINNING WITH CLASSThe senior class for the Colonials this season will leave its mark on the program as the winningest classinschoolhistory.Thefiveseniorshavebeena part of 65 wins over their career including be-ing leading this season’s squad that has won a program-record 20 games. The graduating class from last season previously held the record win-ning 55 games over its four yeaars.

KRUSHING CANCERFormer Robert Morris Colonial captain Chris Kushneriuk is often remembered as a player that would put his teammates before himself. After the conclusion of the 2011-2012 season with the BakersfieldCondorsoftheECHL,Kushneriukgot the news that he had cancer. The native of Ottawa, Ontario is currently receiving treatment in Indianapolis, Indiana. Along with the men’s hockey team at Robert Morris, the Wheeling Nail-ersandBakersfieldCondorshavealsocontrib-uted fundraising efforts to Kushneriuk’s cause. At the remaining home games, the team will be selling wristbands and shirts to help RMU Krush Cancer.

OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAINBrendan Jamison serves as captain with Tyler Hinds working as the assistant captain. Jamison becomesthefirstPittsburgh-borncaptaininthenine-year history of the Program. Zach Hervato and Colin South were recently named assis-tant captains before the Colonials took on RIT. Hervato will serve as the second assistant during all road contests while South will wear the “A” during all games at home.

CHANGING NUMBERSTwo sophomores have switched their number for the 2012-13 season. Forward Jeff Jones will now wear 11 and defenseman Tyson Wilson will switch to 10.

YOUTH OF THE NATIONThis season, 16 of the 27 student-athletes on therosterwillbeplayingintheirfirstorsecondseasonofNCAAhockey.TheColonialshavefivereturning seniors on the roster after graduating ten seniors from the previous season.



EXTRA TIMEFor only the fifth time this season, RobertMor-ris had to play a period of overtime hockey when the Colonials skated to a draw with Mercyhurst onMarch2.Fourofthefiveconteststhatwentinto overtime have ended as ties including games against Ohio State, Holy Cross, and Mercyhurst. The only victory in the overtime period came as the Colonials knocked off nationally-ranked Ni-agara on home ice. Last season, Robert Morris had eight games in go the extra frame, including three consecutive games in the month of Febru-ary. Robert Morris would hold a record of 3-0-5 in overtime games during the 2011-2012 season. Since Robert Morris joined Atlantic Hockey, the Colonials have gone 6-3-14 in games that have gone in to overtime.

PACKING THE LUMBER YARDSince Robert Morris joined the Atlantic Hockey Association in the 2011-2012 season, 84 Lumber Arena has been sold out on six different occasions. An average of just under 1,000 fans have been in attendence for the home games of the 2012-2013 season, including sellouts against Air Force on Oct. 27 and the record-setting crowd of 1,589 that saw the Colonials host Ohio State on Dec. 8.

ROAD WOESRobert Morris is just below .500 on the road since the team joined the Atlantic Hockey Association with a record of 22-25-7 as the squad plays in its third season as a member of the AHA. The Co-lonials have never had a winning record on the road, but this season RMU is currently 9-7-2 as the Atlantic Hockey Association playoffs start. Themostprolificofthesevenroadvictoriesthisseason came in the opening weekend of play as the Colonials shut out a nationally ranked Quin-nipiac team. The Colonials also picked up their firsteverwinatRITandthefirstwinontheroadagainst Canisius since the 2006-2007 season. Robert Morris then continued by downing a pair of future Big Ten members in Ohio State and Penn State. RMU skated in to Columbus, Ohio and took down the Ohio State Buckeyes by a score of 3-2 on Dec. 7. and then went to Penn State and defeated the Nittany Lions by a score of 3-2 as well. How-ever, in 2013 the Colonials are 3-5-0 having split series with Army and American International before being losing both games at Air Force and a loss at nationally-ranked Niagara. The Colonials got back on track with their second victory of the season at Canisius before skating to a 1-1 tie with Mercyhurstinthefinalregular-seasongame.

NEW YEAR, NEW PROBLEMSSince Robert Morris joined the Atlantic Hockey Association, the Colonials are 25-25-8 in the months of January, February, and March. This season, RMU is 11-8-2 since the new year. Out of the three months, the Colonials have played their best hockey in February when the team has gone 12-9-3inthefirstthreeyearsoftheirAHAmem-bership. Before the new year arrives, the Colonials are31-17-6inthefirstthreemonthsoftheseason.

PLAYING THE BESTRobert Morris has beaten a ranked opponent twelve times during the duration of the hockey program. The shutout of #18-ranked Quinnipiac thisseasonmarkedthefirstshutoutofarankedopponent in program history. The Colonials won their second game against a ranked opponent this season when they shut out #5-ranked Miami in the championship game of the Three Rivers Clas-sic. The last time RMU won two games against ranked opponents in the same season was during the 2009-2010 season. In the nine years of the program, Robert Morris has won multiple games against ranked opponents in four of those nine seasons. Against teams ranked in the top five,Robert Morris is 5-5-0 including a 3-1-0 record in 2009-2010 when the Colonials swept #1 Miami in a home-and-home series and knocked off CHA-rival Bemidji State when the Beavers were ranked #5 in the nation. All time, Robert Morris is 12-22-1 against ranked opponents.

BOUNCING BACKDespite losing 12 games this season, Robert Mor-ris has only suffered consecutive losses two times over the course of their schedule so far. The Colo-nials are 10-2-0 after being swept by Air Force and suffering back-to-back losses to RIT and Niagara. RMU has outscored its opponents 49-29 in the game following a loss.

IN IT FOR THE LONG HAULRobert Morris will play its 12th consecutive week of hockey that began with the inaugural Three Rivers Classic at the end of December. The quar-terfinalplayoffseriesagainstConnecticutcomesafter ten straight weeks of the Colonials playing at least two games during the regular season and afirst-roundplayoffseries..

SPECIAL TEAMSWins often come with good special teams play. This season, Robert Morris is 11-2-3 when record-ing either a power-play or short-handed goal. In four games this year the Colonials have scored a goal with both special team units. Of the nine short-handed goals, senior Adam Brace and soph-omore Cody Wydo have each netted three. When scoring a short-handed goal, Robert Morris is 7-1-0 and the team holds a record of 9-1-3 when scor-ing on the power play.

SCORING LINEBack together for the second time this season, the top line of Wydo-Jacklin-Brace has combined for 93 points (43 goals, 50 assists) so far this season accounting for over 30 percent of the team’s point production. In games when the trio has skated on the same line, the Colonials have a record of 13-7-3. The line has come up big with the game on the line as it has combined for seven power-play goals, seven short-handed goals, and seven game-winning goals.

SHOT SELECTIONRobert Morris is averaging 33.4 shots on goal per game. When the Colonials are held to under 30 shots per game the team has a record of 8-4-0. When getting the puck on net more than 30 times, the Colonials are 12-8-4.

KEEPING IT CLOSEOne-goal games are always exciting, especially for the fans. This season, Robert Morris has been in-volved in eleven one-goal games and the team has been victorious in seven of those games.

SEEING A LOT OF RUBBERCommon thought would suggest that the more shots an opponent gets on a goaltender, the better chance of success they have. This season, Robert Morris has debunked that theory. When a Colo-nial goaltender has faced 40 or more shots, RMU has a record of 9-1-1. When facing less than 40 shots,RobertMorris is11-11-3. Threeofthefiveshutouts posted by RMU netminders this season have come while making at least 40 saves.

QUICK STARTSThe Colonials have registered a goal within the firstfiveminutesofaperiodon23differentocca-sions in 17 of the team’s 36 games. In games when the Colonials have scored an early goal in a period, RMU is 12-4-1.

LIGHTING THE LAMPThis season, the Colonials have scored four or more goals in 17 of the team’s 36 games. Most re-cently, the Colonials put up six goals against Sa-cred Heart in a 6-1 victory on March 9. Averaging 3.17 goals per game, Robert Morris has a record of 16-1-0 when scoring four or more goals. The team’s only loss came against Bentley on Nov. 3 in a 4-5 defeat. Since the Colonials joined the AHA, the team has only lost three times when scoring four or more goals.

ONE STEP AHEADThe Colonials are dangerous when playing with the lead. This season, Robert Morris is 12-1-2 when leading after the first period and 16-1-0when leading after two periods of play. Since the move to the Atlantic Hockey Association before the 2010-2011 season, RMU is 30-5-4 when hold-ingafirstperiodleadand44-2-3whenholdingalead after two periods. The last loss suffered by the Colonials when holding the lead after two pe-riods came against RIT on Feb. 9, 2013.

CAREER POINT NUMBER 50Cody Wydo became the 20th Colonial in program history to reach 50 points as the sophomore for-ward reach the milestone with a two-goal perfor-mance on March 9 against Sacred Heart. Prior to Wydo, Colin South became the 19th Colonial to the milestone with his 25th career goal on Feb. 23 against Canisius in a 6-3 victory. Both forwards joined senior Zach Hervato who accomplished the feat in a road victoy against American Interna-tional in January this season.

HOBEY BAKER NOMINEESThree seniors from the Robert Morris men’s ice hockey team are among the candidates for the Hobey Baker Award as the fan voting portion of college hockey’s most prestigious award recently ended on March 10. Forwards Adam Brace and Zach Hervato join goaltender Eric Levine on the ballot as the representitives from the Colonials. A second round of fan voting will begin on March 22 asthefieldof77willbecutdowntotenfinalistsfor a second round of fan voting. The winner of the award will be announced at the Frozen Four.

CLASSY DEFENSEMANSenior defenseman Brendan Jamison was one of ten student-athletes named as a finalist for theprestigious Senior CLASS Award. The award rec-ognizes achievements on and off the ice. A native of Pittsburgh, The winner will be chosen through a nationwide vote by media, coaches, and fans. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award fo-cuses on student-athletes that use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact in their communities. As the team captain for the 2012-13 season, Jamison boasts a cumulative grade-point average of 3.70 and has been named to the Atlan-tic Hockey All-Academic Team in the two seasons that Robert Morris has been a member while majoringinbothfinanceandaccounting. CLASSROOM RECOGNITIONSophomores Jeff Jones and Tyson Wilson were honored prior to the game against Bentley on Nov. 2 for their excellence in the classroom last sea-son. Both Jones and Wilson posted a 4.0 grade-point average and were named Student-Athletes of the Year by the Atlantic Hockey Association. League commissioner Bob DeGregorio and head coach Derek Schooley were on hand to present the awards to the two Colonials. Jones, a native of Revelstoke, British Columbia, earned a 4.0 grade-point average as a sport management ma-jor. Wilson, a management major from Brockville, Ontario, also earned a 4.0 during his freshman year. Jones and Wilson were among 26 Colonials named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team from the 2011-2012 season.

TOP HEAVYRobert Morris’ top two lines have shown up on the scoresheet almost every night. With 71 goals and 162 points, the two lines have produced 62.3 percent of the team’s goals and 53.6 percent of the team’spointsthisseason.ThefirstlineofWydo-Jacklin-Brace has combined for 43 goals and 50 assists for 93 points. The second line of South-Hervato-Jones has netted 28 goals while collect-ing 41 assists for 69 points.

LEVINE SURPASSES 2,000 SAVESSenior goaltender Eric Levine became the third goaltender in school history to reach the 2,000-saves as he reached the milestone during the game against Canisius on February 23, 2013. Before Levine reached 2,000 saves, the most re-cent goaltender to reach the mark was Brooks Os-tergardashefinishedhiscareerwith2,776saves,the second most in program history. Levine cur-rently ranks third on the career saves list. Chris-tian Boucher holds the career saves record with 3,244 saves over his four-year career that started withRobertMorris’firstyearofhockeyin2004.

MEN OF THE CENTURYRobert Morris has three players who have com-peted in at least 100 games during their NCAA ca-reer. Both Adam Brace and Brendan Jamison have each played in 133 contests during their careers. Brace played in 33 of those game during his fresh-man season with Canisius before transferring to Robert Morris. Earlier in the season, Zach Hervato as he played in game 100 against Niagara on Nov. 17. Two more student-athletes joined the century club when junior forward Colin South and senior assistant captain Tyler Hinds both skated in their 100th game against Sacred Heart on March 9.

ROCK SOLIDSenior Eric Levine inhereted the starting posi-tion from 2012 graduate Brooks Ostergard and stepped into his new role quickly. Coming into the season, Levine had seen action in 37 games while playing in no more than thirteen games in a single season. In his second start of the season, Levinewould record the program’sfirst shutoutof a ranked opponent with a 48-save performance against #18 ranked Quinnipiac on Oct. 14. The 48-save effort ranked as the fourth most saves by a Colonial goaltender. Levine holds four of the top fivesingle-saveperformances includingacareerand program high 58 saves. Levine posted back-to-back shutout in the inaugural Three Rivers Classic as he blanked Penn State while seeing 48 shots and #5 ranked Miami University the fol-lowing evening by stopping all 51 shots he faced. Levine’s career goals against average of 2.66 and his career save percentage of .926 both are near the top of the program record books. Levine has played in 70 career games and has a record of 30-20-11with2,135savesandfiveshutouts.

50 GOALS, 100 POINTSSenior Adam Brace eclipsed the 100 point mark with a four-point effort against Sacred Heart on February 2, 2013. The forward now has his sights set or reaching 50 goals by the end of his career at Robert Morris. Currently, Brace has recorded 46 goals and is averaging a goal every three games over his career. With just the Atlantic Hockey playoffs remaining for Brace to chase down the milestone, Brace needs four goals to reach the benchmark.

GOING STREAKING, AGAINRobert Morris is currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak, the longest active streak in the NCAA. The current streak dates back to Feb. 16 when RMU knocked off then-15th ranked Niagara in overtime by a score of 6-5. During the streak, the Colonials have outscored opponents by a 30-16 margin. This is the second time this season that the Colonials have gone this many games without suffering a loss. From Nov. 30 to Dec. 29, RMU would go 5-0-2 with victories against Holy Cross, Ohio State, Penn State (2), and Miami as the Colonials captured the inaugural Three Rivers Classic during that time.

ESTABLISHING WINNING WAYSPrior to this season, the most wins in a single season by a Colonial team was 18. This season’s squad has surpassed that total as they have notched 20 wins this season. Robert Morris is one of only ten teams in the NCAA and one of only two teams in Atlantic Hockey to reach the 20-win mark this season.

THE BEST IN THE CONFERENCEHeadingintothequarterfinals,RobertMorrisranks near the top in many statistical categories. Senior Adam Brace is a serious contender for Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year honors as he currently leads the conference in assists (26) and points (40) while also ranking 12th in goals (14). Sophomore Cody Wydo leads the conference with 19 goals this season; giving the Colonials the top spot in all three major individual scoring catego-ries.OfWydo’s19goalsthisseason,fiveofthemhave been the game-winning goal which ranks second in Atlantic Hockey. Both Brace and Wydo share the AHA lead with three shorthanded goals thisseasonastheduositsfirst(Brace–five)andsecond(Wydo–four)inshorthandedpoints.With two top-notch forwards, the Colonials also have two defensemen that rank in the top-ten in scoring for their position. Senior Tyler Hinds is sixth in the conference with 18 points while junior Andrew Blazek trails Hinds by one point and is ninth in the AHA scoring by a defenseman. STREAKING INDIVIDUALSSophomore Cody Wydo is currently on an eight-game point streak that dates back to Feb. 15. In the eight games, Wydo has tallied six goals and seven assists for 13 points. Wydo’s linemate, AdamBrace,iscurrentlyholdingafive-gamepoint streak in which the senior has registered four goals and six assists for ten points. Goal-tender Eric Levine has played in six consecutive games in which he has allowed three or fewer goals. SENIOR SUCCESS This year’s senior class has done a lot of things for the program and is enjoying the overall and individual success this season. Along with set-ting the class record for wins with 65 heading in totheAtlanticHockeyQuarterfinals,eachofthefiveseniorsareinthemidstofthebestseasonoftheir college careers. In his three years at Robert Morris, Adam Brace currently has a personal best 26 assists and 40 points this season; his 14 goals tie a personal best from his junior season. Coming off of a disappointing junior season, Zach Hervato has doubled his previous best point total (13) with 26 points this season. Hervato’s 11 goals and 15 assists this season are also personal bests for the forward. After playing fewer than 20gamesineachofhisfirsttwoseasonswiththeColonials, defenseman Tyler Hinds has played in every game this season as an assistant captain. His 15 assists and 18 points are the top marks of this career while his three goals tie his personal record from just last season. The captain this season, Brendan Jamison, has put up career numbers in assists (11) and points (12) while leading Robert Morris to a program-record 20 wins. Exceling in the defensive zone, Jamison has blocked 61 shots while maintaining a +12 rating, both personal bests. After starting just 29gamesduringhisfirstthreeseasons,goalten-der Eric Levine has started 33 games during his senior campaign. His 19 wins and four shutouts this season are not only personal bests but also program records. His save percentage of .932 this year is the highest of any of his four seasons while his 1,102 saves are more than he made in hisfirstthreeseasonscombined(1,033).LevinewillbethefirstgoaltendertoleaveRobertMorriswith a winning record (30-20-11).

REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKSIn just three seasons with the Colonials, Adam Brace has left an impact on the program and its record book. The senior currently sits fourth in points(91),thirdingoals(40),andfifthinassists(51) while also sitting in the top ten in short-handedgoals(second–3),shotsongoal(sixth–318),andplus/minusrating(second-+25).Brace’s linemate, Cody Wydo, could follow in his footsteps and make some records of his own. Only in his sophomore season, Wydo is already fifthinRobertMorrishistorywith32goalsandis halfway to the program record of 64 held by Chris Margott. Of his 32 goals, nine have been the game-winning goal for the Colonials, a number that ranks him second all time. Wydo’s three shorthanded goals are the second most by a Co-lonial. Junior and assistant captain Colin South could also climb the list as he is currently tenth in goals with 27 and eighth with 10 career power-play goals. Goaltender Eric Levine currently holds three top spots with a .926 save percent-age,a2.66goals-againstaverage,andfivecareershutouts. His 30 career wins rank the netminder third all time.

ALL PLUS, NO MINUSThisseason,fifteenskatersholdapositiveplus/minus rating while the team as a whole is +125 in the 36 games played. Leading the way for Robert Morris this season is senior Adam Brace who is a +25. Freshman defenseman Evan Moore (+20) is the only other Colonial with a rating of +20 or better. Four other Colonials have a rating of at least +10 or higher. Over the course of their careers, eight Colonials rank in the top-ten for plus/minus. Senior Tyler Hinds (+27) tops the list as Brace (+25), Cody Wydo (+24), and Moore (+20) round out those who have had a +20 for their career. Those four skaters also hold the top-fourseasonrecordsatRobertMorris(Brace–25,Moore–20,Hinds–19,Wydo–18)whilethereare six members of this season’s squad in the top eight.

SEASONAL RECORDSAs many Colonials are having the best seasons of their careers this year, some are having the best seasons in Robert Morris history. Adam Brace’s 40 points this season are the sixth most by any Colonial and he is just nine points shy of the single-season record. With 26 assists this sea-son,Bracehasthefifthhighesttotalinaseasonat RMU and is six assists shy of the record. Cody Wydo’s season with 19 goals is the third best scor-ing output at RMU, as the sophomore is just three goals shy of the program record. Both Brace and Wydo are one shorthanded goal shy of the single-seasonrecordatRMUwhileWydo’sfivegame-winning goals are the most since the 2008-2009 seasonwhenChrisMargottalsotalliedfivetoset the single-season record. Between the pipes, senior Eric Levine has turned in the best season of any Colonial netminder. Levine currently has 19 wins, four more than any other goalie in a season; his four shutouts are also a single-season record.Levinewasthefirstgoaltenderinpro-gram history to turn in a 1,000-save season as he currently has 1,102 stops in 33 games played.

CHICAGO WOLVESFormer Robert Morris hockey standout Nathan Longpre is now with the Vancouver Canucks’ affiliate,theChicagoWolves,oftheAmericanHockey League. After stints with the Worcester SharksandSpringfieldFalcons,Longpreisinthird season in the AHL. The forward has played in 109 career games during his tenure in the AHL. Longpre has tallied 34 points that include 15 goals and 19 assists. This season with the Wolves, Longpre has played in 42 games while tallying four goals and eight assists.

WORCESTER SHARKSFormer Robert Morris hockey standout defen-seman Denny Urban is now with the San Jose Sharks’affiliate,theWorcesterSharks,oftheAmerican Hockey League. After spending his firstthreeprofessionalseasonswiththeReadingRoyals of the East Coast Hockey League, Urban finallygotthecalluptotheAHLonDec.20.Urban was named a starter for the ECHL All-Star Game prior to his promotion to the AHL. In 26 games with Worcester, Urban has scored three goalswhilecollectingelevenassists.Hisfirstcareergoalcameinhisfifthcareergameagainstthe Portland Pirates on Jan. 8.

PEORIA RIVERMENIt was announced almost two weeks ago that a third member of the RMU hockey family would be in the American Hockey League as forward Trevor Lewis was signed to a professional tryout contract by the Peoria Rivermen, the AHL af-filiateoftheSt.LouisBlues.Lewiswasinjuredwhile with the Reading Royals of the ECHL before being traded to the Cincinnati Cyclones where he would produce 13 points in 18 games before getting the call to join Peoria. Lewis has seen action in six games with the Rivermen including his debut on March 1. On March 7, Lewis would recordhisfirstcareerAHLgoalina3-2victoryover the Lake Erie Monsters. His goal would be the game-winning goal as Lewis was named the firststarinthecontest.
