BSC, recently led the due diligence for the acquisition of a portfolio of wind power, solar power and
hydro power assets across Southern and Eastern Europe. Tasks included assistance in providing
advice to Sponsors on behalf of lenders during contract finalisation as precursor to full due diligence
including contract review and review of financial model inputs prior to financial close. EPC Contract Review, Spain – for Platina Finance to review a draft EPC Contract for a PV plant in Spain, specifically covering: liability caps, liquidated damages for performance and delay, rejection clause, termination clauses, payments terms, performance guarantee, insurance, transfer of ownership. Wind Farm Acquisition Due Diligence, UK – for Sofidel – Project Director leading the acquisition due diligence. Sofidel were looking to acquire and build wind farms to cover their energy consumption.
Crucea I and II Onshore Wind Farms, Romania - for European Bank for Reconstruction &
Development acted as the Project Director, leading the due diligence for financing the Crucea wind farm
in Romania. The role included assistance in providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including
contract review and review of financial model inputs prior to financial close.
Huaneng (Wind Farm Portfolio) IPO, China - For the potential flotation on the Hong Kong stock
exchange of the large Chinese wind power developer Huaneng New Energies, Mott MacDonald
provided the services of independent engineer. Robert acted as Project Director for the team providing
the independent verification of assets. Shepherds Flat Wind Onshore Farm, Oregon, US - for GE Energy Financial Services - the largest
wind farm in the world at the time of construction (845MW) acted as the Project Director, leading the due
diligence for equity investment at the Shepherds Flat wind farm in Oregon, USA. The role was as Project
Director and tasks included assistance in providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including
contract review and review of financial model inputs prior to financial close.
Long Yuan (Wind Farm Portfolio) IPO, China - For the flotation of the Long Yuan company on the
Hong Kong stock exchange, China’s largest wind power developer. Mott MacDonald provided the
services of independent engineer. Robert led the wind team providing the independent verification of
assets for the flotation prospectus.
10 MW PV Installation, Cuenca, Spain, Confidential Client – Technical Advisor for potential investor of a proposed 10 MW Solar PV plant in Spain. We provided independent yield calculations, reviewed the proposed technology (including the solar panels, inverters, transformers and tracking system), conducted an irradiance study, reviewed the Independent Engineers report (analysed the yield assessment, performance ratios and irradiance assumptions) on the project and advised on the technical inputs of the financial model.
4 Offshore Wind Farms, Germany - For EnBW, a Germany utility company. The 4 offshore wind farms
all in German waters - Baltic 1, Baltic 2, Kriegers Flak & Nordsee wind farm. The role was as Project
Director for the owners engineering services provided to EnBW for four offshore wind farms in German
waters. Tasks include contract negotiation, design specification and many other owners engineering
services.
Darlowo Wind Farm, Poland - for the European Investment Bank (EIB) he was Project Director,
leading the due diligence for financing the Darlowo wind farm in Poland. Tasks included assistance in
providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including contract review and review of financial
model inputs prior to financial close.
Orites Wind Farm, Cyprus - for Platina Partners / EIB. Robert led the LTA Services for the due
diligence for financing the Orites wind farm in Cyprus. The role was as project manager and tasks
included assistance in providing advice for the pre-construction due diligence including contract review
and review of financial model inputs prior to financial close.
Windjoule – for a private investor. A technology review of prototype small wind generator. Robert acted
as Project Manager.
Pelamis wave Energy Review - for Scottish Power Generation Limited we undertook the Pelamis wave Energy Review, a technical review of a 750 kW wave energy device, prior to investment by a major UK utility. Lunar Energy Ltd - undertook Due Diligence and an independent technical review of a tidal energy device for the development company. The work has highlighted key areas of both strength and weakness in the concept. Also providing a suitable form of independent words for use in the investor information prospectus.
Beicheng Wind Farm, China - for HSBC acted as the Project Manager, leading the due diligence for
financing the Beicheng wind farm in China. The role was as Project Manager and tasks included
assistance in providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including contract review and review of
financial model inputs prior to financial close.
Suvorovo Wind Farm, Bulgaria - for European Bank for Reconstruction & Development acted as the
Project Director, leading the due diligence for financing the Suvorovo wind farm in Bulgaria. The role
included assistance in providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including contract review and
review of financial model inputs prior to financial close.
Cote d’Albatre Offshore Wind Farm, France - For NordLB, a German bank, led the due diligence for
financing the Cote d’Albatre offshore wind farm in French waters. Role was as project manager and
tasks included assistance in providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including contract review
and review of financial model inputs prior to financial close.
2 Portfolios of Onshore Wind Farms, Germany - For NIBC, a Dutch/German bank, acted as Project
Director and led the due diligence for the potential acquisition of the onshore wind farm portfolios. Tasks
included assistance in providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including contract review and
review of financial model inputs prior to financial close.
Sandbank 24 Offshore Wind Farm, Germany - For ENBW, a German utility company led the due
diligence for the potential acquisition of the German offshore wind farm, Sandbank 24. Tasks included
assistance in providing advice as precursor to full due diligence including contract review and review of
financial model inputs prior to financial close.
