History
Founded in 1955 by Robert Welch, Robert Welch Designs is a family run
business based at Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. Originally Robert
Welch set up as a designer for industry from his workshop in Chipping
Campden and from his base opened a shop to sell his own designs.
Over the last fif teen years his family – Rupert Welch and Alice Welch
(Directors) have expanded the business to supply hospitality customers
with a multi award-winning collection of internationally renowned
cutlery and tabletop items.

Robert WelchTM
When Robert Welch left the Royal College of Art in 1955, he set up with
just his drawing board and a camp bed in a small rented room in a
disused workshop in the 18th century Silk Mill at Chipping Campden in
the English Cotswold Hills. Robert Welch’s passion to create beautiful,
functional, timeless products earned him an MBE, becoming a Royal
Designer for Industry.
Today’s in-house team work from the original 18th century Cotswold Silk
Mill which Robert founded, ensuring that Robert’s memory lives on and
that every new product continues to be ‘Designed the Robert Welch Way’.
Comfort and use is at the heart of the design process at Robert Welch
Designs, while creating designs to complement any table setting. Each
piece of cutlery is rigorously tested – the weight, shape, style and finish
all combining to enhance the overall diner experience.
Robert Welch spoons and forks are made using the highest quality 18/10
stainless steel. Knife blades are made from specially hardened stainless
steel to provide the finest possible cutting edge.
With multiple accolades including the Red Dot Design Award, Good
Design Award, Product of the Year Award, and two highly coveted
Queen’s Awards: for Innovation, and International Trade, Robert Welch
products can be found in some of the world’s most prestigious hotels
and restaurants; on first-class rail services and aboard cruise-liners
and international airlines.

HoneybourneTM
Inspired by the traditional silversmith
technique of planishing, the Honeybourne
collection makes a tactile and light reflecting
statement on the table.
Featuring classic proportions of long tines
and a traditional heel, the deliberately thin
neck exaggerates the wide curves of the
subtly textured handle. The feel in the hand
is well - considered as the texture fades to
smooth at the neck of each piece.

Care Guidel ines for Sta in less Steel CutleryRobert Welch cutlery is dishwasher safe, but it is important that you
carefully follow the instructions below. To keep your cutlery in the best
condition, we do recommend hand washing.
I n the D ishwasher• Ensure your dishwasher settings
are as per the manufacturers’
instructions for water hardness
in your area.
• Maintain salt and rinse aid
levels.
• Rinse cutlery to remove all
traces of food as soon as
possible after use and before
placing in the dishwasher.
• Load cutlery basket loosely for
good circulation.
• Do not allow stainless steel to
touch other metals especially
sterling silver - it will leave
marks on the silverware.
• Avoid dishwasher detergent
with any citrus additives, these
can damage the surface of the
stainless steel.
• Avoid using short and low heat
cycles when selecting your
dishwasher programme.
• Avoid using the rinse and hold
cycle when selecting your
dishwasher programme.
• For best results remove cutlery
as soon as the programme is
complete and dry by hand if
necessary.
• This is especially important for
knives as they are made from
a stainless steel more prone to
discolouration if regularly left
in a moist atmosphere.
• Rinse cutlery to remove all traces
of food as soon as possible after
use.
• Wash gently in warm soapy
water with a soft cloth.
• Do not soak your cutlery.
• Dry thoroughly, immediately
after washing.
