HemingwayApp.com – This App is a writer’s dream and nemesis at the same time. It’s an amazing tool that critiques your writing and points out errors. Google My Business – Here’s a way to set up a listing for your business in search engine local directories. You can get listed on Google, but other sites are available too. Let customers know where you are and attract business right to your door. Super local targeting works to find business who wants you, now. Take advantage of that so your competition won’t.

Flickr.com – Photo sharing sites give you an opportunity to display visual content plus link back to your website. Post images of events, news, products and everything work related – improving your image, with your own images! Check out other photo sharing sites on the web to see which ones you like best. Pictures say more than a thousand words – they bring business to your door!

Google AdWords – This tool works beautifully, especially if you want to target local online customers. Set your pay-per-click ads to appear only when people search for a specific city, state or region. Test what works and don’t be afraid to experiment or change up the copy. Determine the daily budget based on results – which puts you in the driver’s seat.

Build a Google Map – Thinking of building a Google Map? You can add descriptions about your location, what’s cool and interesting in the area and points of interest not to be missed. Make sure that the map is public and embed it on your website so it will be easy for people to find you. Chances are your prospects want to buy what you’re selling.

YouTube.com – Create a how-to video about your product or service, or even a slide show if you hate to be on camera. Then, upload it to YouTube. Be sure to add key words and optimize your title and descriptions. Double your exposure by using videos on your website and in your media kit. Remember that YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world with over one billion users.

Pinterest.com – If you’re marketing to women, consider Pinterest – especially if you’re in the clothing, fashion or beauty business. It’s a visual wonderland for image sharing and repinning. Link back to your website on selected pins, which helps drive traffic and sales. Check out the promoted pins now too.

Free Photo Sites - 65 of them – If you’re blogging, writing articles and publishing on LinkedIn, add high quality and relevant photos for max impact. Improve your image, with these images. Just go here.

Buffer – If you’re thinking of an alternative to Hootsuite, consider Buffer. It’s a free scheduler for updating social media links, articles and promos on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest. A few helpful hints to get you started. Write a bit differently for each platform –and post at different times. Schedule your content a few days or even a week in advance, but be flexible to change. You want to stay current with the world. Rent My Brain – Increase your expert status and income at the same time by having a ‘Rent My Brain’ icon or link on your blog or site. Prospects may want to try you out first, before they really commit, or see if you ‘get’ what they’re talking about. Give them an opportunity to test drive you for an hourly rate. If they buy your expertise for a longer period, or join one of your programs, you can always comp them the hour. But, get paid first. I love Rent My Brain!

A Bonus: Create or align with a cause that makes your heart sing. Mine is Pay It Forward Global Retreats. In April of 2106, we’re bringing 10 entrepreneurial women to Guatemala on a Pay It Forward Vacation and trip of a life time – visiting Antigua and Lake Atitlan. Our goals are to give back, have fun and celebrate life. A portion of the fee will be used to contribute to the micro-lending program at Friendship Bridge, a collective for women in Guatemala.

Our itinerary has been planned with tremendous thought and detail so we can experience the rich culture of Guatemala, yet also honor each other. A group of like-minded women who love to travel and have an adventurous spirit, an open heart and the smarts to tie it all together to make this a better world.
