To Search for Files and Folders, Click the Start Button.

Select the Look In Combo Box to Select the Search Location.

Enter the Filename to Search for.

Search Results List all File Names that Include the Search Variable.

Isolating Your Search by Document Type Using a Wildcard Character

A Wildcard Character is a Keyboard Character Such as an Asterisk (*) or a Question Mark (?) Often Used in Place of One or More Characters.

All Documents End in File Extensions. For Example: Word (.doc), Excel (.xls), PowerPoint (.ppt), Access (.mdb) and Pictures (.jpg).

To Search for All Documents of One Kind, Type an Asterisk (*) Before the File Extension. Example: *.doc

Search Results List all Documents of that File Type.
