Dear reader,

this “Guiding Document for the Robot4All-Toolkit” will provide you with information about the general strategy of

Robot4All and an overview on the learning material that can be found in this toolkit.

The overall goal of this project is to create a strategy to integrate coding and robotics into schools providing

vocational education. This strategy focusses on a Moodle-based online platform, the “Robot4All Academy”

combined with free accessible teaching material for teachers to use it in class or in the context of afternoon

activities, like “Robotic-Labs”. The approach of this project focusses on the work with the programming

language C++ and the usage of Arduino hardware components.

An important aspect of the strategy is a barrier-free approach that addresses teachers without expertise in the

field of ICT.

Basic knowledge about coding and programming language is recommended but not mandatory. More important

is the motivation to get familiar with the suggested strategy and the willingness to work with students that might

have no previous knowledge regarding programming or robotics. In this context it is also important that the

Robot4All-material can be used in schools that don't possess a fully equipped laboratory for Robotics. The

lessons and exercises suggested by our strategy can be implemented with free-to-use software and low-priced

hardware components.

Of course all material can also be of use for teachers who only need an addition to already existing teaching

material, within non-formal teaching contexts or for self-learners of any age. The following table will provide a

description of all documents and resources that are part of this toolkit, giving guidance which material to use for

which purpose. All pieces of material can also be downloaded through our homepage “robot4all.eu” as a single

file in the languages English, German, Spanish, French, Greek and Romanian.

Comparative Benchmark Report

on integrating digital, coding and

robotics skills for school

providing vocational education

Manual Part One: The

Competence Reference

Framework - Benchmarks and

Indicators Activity Chart

Manual Part Three: Teaching

Material Arduino Robotics

Exercises and solutions –

Coding

Manual Part Two: Teaching

Material - Programming

The report examines the frame-

work for VET-Education of ICT and

Robotics and the needs of the

labour market in all participating

countries. As an addition, this

report presents the results of an

empirical research among stu-

dents and teachers.

The first part of the manual gives

an introduction to our didactic

strategy and explains the skills

and competences to be increased

among the participating stu-

dents. Addittionally it lists useful

links and further sources of

teaching material.

The third part of the manual pro-

vides teaching material for work-

ing with Arduino Robotics.

All exercises for coding that are

offered in the Robot4All-Aca-

demy with corresponding solu-

tions for teachers.

The second part of the manual

provides teaching material for

programming with C++.
