Comprehensive operating system support includes all major software releases. A unified driver model for the RocketRAID 3500 and 4300 hardware RAID series includes native Linux support from kernel 2.6.25 and FreeBSD 7.0 and above. All RocketRAID series controllers are delivered with (Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X support.)

Three options are offered, each with it’s own centralized interface: Web GUI (a web based graphical interface), CLI (command line interface), and the Firmware/BIOS Utility (pre-OS RAID Management) and the independent RAID module onboard.

The RocketRAID 3500 Enterprise SATA Series offers a complete family of hardware RAID controllers from 4 to 24 ports, utilizing the world’s fastest SATA I/O Processor from Intel. The Intel® IOP341 is a full-function IOP-based RAID and with HighPoint’s TerabyteArchitecture to efficiently optimize the ADMA engines to delivered unprecedented sustained performance, protection and monitoring features for vertical applications like NAS storage, cluster servers, supercomputing, backup and archival, security systems and pro audio and video applications, often require I/O tuning to meet the sustained Read/Write performance and protection mode needs.

Universal software support for the RocketRAID 3500 Enterprise SATA Series includes the HighPoint RAID module embedded into Linux kernel 2.6.25 and native support in FreeBSD 7.0 for all of the RocketRAID 3500 series controllers.HighPoint works aggressively to ensure modules included in each successive kernel distribution. The RocketRAID 2600 SATA/SAS RAID Series brings a revolutionary pricing structure for SATA/SAS RAID5 controllers enabling customers to utilize the industry’s fastest SATA/SAS hard drives for numerous applications which include capturing uncompressed video, CDP, gaming, workstations and advanced desktop applications.

The RocketRAID 2600 series provides almost the same throughput as Adaptec’s RAID 5405 entry level controller when running RAID 0 or RAID 5.

The RocketRAID 2600 SATA/SAS RAID Series offers the flexibility to support either 15,000 rpm SAS hard drives for performance or lower cost SATA hard drives for capacity. The ability to deploy either type of drives allows the computer system to be optimized for specific application and cost requirements.
