Differentiation of Vessels

■ Artery has pulsatile flow

■ Distal Augmentation- Vein will fill with blood when area distal

to the vessel is compressed

Transverse Approach

■ Locate target vessel

■ Anesthetized skin

■ Puncture skin adjacent to probe
