MEMO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Re: Rain Barrel Sales (WREC 319 Grant Cost Share Program) To: Mike Jones, City Controller From: Angela Andrews, WPCD Date: 3/12/12 Rain Barrel Cost Share Program Through the Wabash River Enhancement Corporation (WREC) 319 Grant money, rain barrels have been approved to be reimbursed for 75% of the cost to each homeowner. Rather than ask that each individual to file paperwork and wait for processing, the City of Lafayette will charge only $25.00 per rain barrel to each individual. The City then will file paperwork with WREC for the 75% to be reimbursed. Since the City is covering the cost for the rain barrel, the Water Pollution Control Department will fill out any required paperwork for the owner. Once the rain barrel is installed, the City (Water Pollution Control Dept.) can then file paperwork with WREC to be submitted to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management(IDEM) for reimbursement.
