Readings for December 6th FFirst Reading: Isaiah 40:1-5, 9-11Isaiah emphasizes that from the desert to the mountains, all people must prepare for “the glory of the Lord to be revealed.” Rather than looking only at God’s power, Isai-ah focuses on God’s kindness, comparing it to a shepherd who feeds and cares for his flock.
Second Reading: 2 Peter 3:8-14For those who are impatient for the Second Coming, Peter explains that time is differ-ent to God than to people. He reminds them that they should be grateful for the extra time to prepare, and concentrate on striving to become all that God would want them to be.
Gospel: Mark 1:1-8In this passage, John the Baptist stressed the importance of the coming of the Messi-ah. He acknowledged that he was only the messenger, and unfit to “stoop and untie his sandal straps.” John urged them to prepare for one far holier than he, who would walk among them.

Eucharistic Adoration: Beholding the Glory of God “No eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor has the heart of man conceived, what God has pre-
pared for those who love him.”—1 COR 2:9 Heaven is the place where we shall behold the face of God unveiled. On this Earth we can also behold the face of God yet only the eyes of faith are able to recognize Him. St. Thomas says that on the cross Jesus hid His divinity but in the Eucharist He hides both His divinity and His humanity. It is only through faith that we can look upon the white host and recognize the Lord and giver of life, for “faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen”—
Hebrews 11:1. May we look upon our God with faith on this Earth so that we may behold Him in His glory in Heaven From 9:00 am until 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday;
Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
We are in Need of Committed Adorers Thursday & Friday at 9:00 am & Saturday at 11:00 am and Monday at 12:00 pm

During the Octave (eight days) of Christmas we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family. The significance of the Feast becomes much more meaningful when we consider the deeper
truths it reveals. Yes, it teaches us about Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. But it also speaks to each one of us how to live differently in our own
families, make Jesus Christ the center of our life together.
This year due to COVID and the restrictions mandated by the State of NJ, reservations will be required. To reserve your seats, go to www.stmagdalen.org and click the banner that says “Christmas Mass Reservations, and follow the prompts. You will receive a confirmation that you will need to print. That receipt will become your ticket. You will need to bring that with you to the Mass that you have selected.
The Christmas Mass Reservation form will be on the website starting Monday, December 7th.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that you are
present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire
to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You have already come, and unite
myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

We are all called to live a holy life. We are all called to invite others to live holy lives. Living a stewardship life-style, being grateful and generous with our gifts, puts us on the path to holiness and is an example for others to be holy, too. We are responsible not only for our own lives, but for the lives of others as well.
