MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
It is a leapof faith forany theatreto take onproducingA StreetcarNamedDesire.TennesseeWilliamsplay is
fraught with difficulties and forthe actors, designers and mostparticularly props crew, it posesmany challenges.
My thanks go out to ChuckMorris, the president of RLT,who has designed lights for thisproduction and is performingMitch with tenderness and pow-er. He is a consummate profes-sional and working with him is ajoy. He has brought to this pro-duction discipline, creativity anda superb acting talent. I alsowant to thank Mary Walker,Mary Asbury and our wonderfulprops crew who make the diffi-cult scene changes seamless. My last kudos go to tonight'scast and Neal Brackett, our pro-ducer who has done everythingabove and beyond what a hu-man being should be asked todo in the producing of a difficultplay.
In its brilliance, A StreetcarNamed Desire rates up therewith Shakespeare. Its poetryand the spoken arias of BlancheDubois can be some of the mostexciting moments in theatre. Inher mouth and heart, Williams'words ring with passion, andpoetry, and elevate the role ofBlanche, (played by Tracy SlackHellriegel) to one of the mostmemorable heroines ever writ-ten. Williams likens her to abeautiful moth, one that can bedestroyed in an instant. Theanimalistic Stanley, portrayedbrilliantly in this production byChristopher Parker (RLT audi-ences will remember his Gentle-men Caller in The GlassMenagerie) is destined to de-stroy her. She is the antipathy ofeverything he believes and itbecomes inevitable she cannotsurvive any struggle against him.
To the Streetcar cast, I thankyou for bringing your dedicationand acting skills to this wonder-ful play-
To you, the audience-sit backand enjoy the performance.
Gail Deschamps

The play follows the tumultuous paththe letters take from their origins to their rediscovery in asmall, non-descript apartment, to their current restingplace at the New York Public Library. PG

This charming show takes a funny, heartwarming and often poignantlook at the struggle to find the spirit of the holidays amid the avalancheof commercialism, stress, and chaos that crashes down every December.Among the many delightful stories is one about a small immigrant childwho comes trick-or-treating in a cheap Santa mask a few days beforeChristmas, inadvertently delivering the true meaning of the season to agrown-up with a serious case of “Scroogitis.” PG

BOB MOULARD (Steve Hubbell)In 2006, the world of community theatrewas rocked to its foundation, if you don'tcare what you say, when Virginia Mc-Chesney took a flier on an unknownauditioner and gave Robert Moulard therole of Bob Ewell in To Kill A Mocking-bird. For his sensitive portrayal of whitetrash gone very bad, he was awarded a"Showstopper of the Year" Roman stat-uette which sits on his mantle next to hisautographed photo of Professor Long-hair. Mr. Moulard "ain't from aroundhere" as the locals quaintly put it; he wasborn in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi and isproudly "coon-ass" (Cajun to you, bust-er) on his father's side. He could sing"Mama, Look a Pye-Pye" when he wasfour years old and thinks the GratefulDead made a hash out of "Iko, Iko"; theDixie Cups cut the definitive version. Hewas weaned off this mother's milk onTobasco and chickory coffee and hethinks that although Huey had higherambitions and did write "Every Man, aKing," Earl was a lot more fun on dates.
