Description, ApplicationThe Glidevale DV Slate Dry Verge system ismechanically fixed, and once installedprovides complete and continuous coverover batten ends and slates, protecting theverge from wind uplift and driving rain. Foruse with natural and artificial double-lapslates not exceeding 5mm thickness, includingRedland Cambrian and Marley Monarch.The system is designed to overcome theproblems of traditional mortar beddedverges, which may crack due to differentialmovement. Mortar will also crack and erodedue to weathering and eventually fall away,leaving vulnerable slate edges exposed. Roofverges are subject to high level wind upliftand this will lead to loosening of slates andeventual failure.

Advantages

● Provides full wind uplift and waterprotection.

● Self draining: any rainwater which entersthe system is carried away from the roofcovering and directly into the gutter.

● Modular construction: a single vergeextrusion, plus unobtrusive connectorunits and handed eaves stop ends, whichprevent ingress of birds.

The Glidevale Univalley 125 incorporatesmany design features and has beendeveloped as a universal product for ease ofinstallation, simplified stockholding andminimum wastage.

Tests undertaken by Brunel University,Uxbridge, show that a clear water channel of125mm is necessary for roof drainage areasgreater than 25 square metres

Compatible with either slates or tiles theUnivalley 125 has a 125mm clear waterchannel to ensure optimum performanceand incorporates a ‘gel’ coat, proven toprovide increased durability.
