Make the Most of Your Small Space

When you live in a space that is smaller than some walk-in closets, you are left with the difficult task of making your furniture and other possessions, fit. You also have the arduous task of keeping things organized and tidy. Knowing how to make the most out of the square footage you have can be a challenge. But, if you can think a bit outside the box, when it comes to designing your interior, you can find some great ways to make your space seem like a mansion, or at least bigger than a walk-in closet.

The Thing About Storage

The very first thing you should consider is how you can de-clutter your space by maximizing your storage. There is no reason you need to have your fleece blankets out when you’re experiencing a heat wave. Don’t sacrifice your love of all things spicy because you have limited kitchen cabinets.

Here are some simple tricks you can do to maximize your storage, allowing you to keep all the things you love. If you are working with a minuscule closet, invest in some under bed storage bags or boxes and rotate your summer and winter clothes with the seasons. If you have four different types of chili powder, but nowhere to store them, over the door racks can be used in your pantry to help you store extra food, spices, and supplies.

Think Outside the Box

If your place lacks proper closet space, you can always create your own. If you have the room, you can pull your bed away from the wall, hang a curtain to serve as room dividers, and turn the area behind the curtain into your new walk-in closet. With the use of pre-made closet organizers, you can design your new closet to fit your needs. Also, you can expand your system, as your needs grow, and you can change the look of your closet “door” with the seasons, or every other week, if you desire.
