The Third Sunday of Easter

“Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’ But they were startled and frightened…”-- LUKE 24:36-37 Throughout the day we have opportunities to “see the face of Jesus” in others and to “be the face of Jesus” to others. Do we take that opportunity to provide “peace” to those we en-counter or are we afraid of what others will think of us and do nothing? Pray for the strength to live a “God-centered” life and not a “self-centered” life.

Sessions for those interested in becoming mem-

bers or learning more about the Catholic Church

• We will be starting a series of about 8 sessions

soon. If you or someone you know is interested

contact Fr. John or parish office at 463-2441.

• Note: Two persons interested so far.

Peace begins in our own hearts, the peace of knowing that we are at one with God, that we are try-ing to model our will on His, to bring about His king-dom, to sanctify His name. Then peace grows into the lives of those we meet, our contacts of charity, our words and thoughts of peace towards others. From small beginnings comes peace in our communities, in the places we live and the places we work. From that grows peace in the nation, and from that grows peace between nations. —Fr. Jerome Bertram from Jesus, Teach Us to Pray

Easter season are available at the church en-

trance. To keep the subscription costs down,

we order the books in bulk. This allows us to

order each book at the cost of $1 per book.

We ask that you offer your donation to the

collection basket or give it to the parish of-

-----”Even though we are baptized, what we con-

stantly lose and betray is precisely that which we

received at baptism. Therefore Easter is our re-

turn every year to our own baptism… our own

“passage” or “pascha” into the new life in Christ.”

and they can be put in KC room.

• We will be looking for help setting up on May 2nd and working the sale.

Capital Campaign Update

We are now at $650,561 in cash on hand. Since we have paid out approx. $22,000 to the architect on the final drawings which are part of the total cost of the project, half of that amount ($11,000) can be added to that fig-ure so that actually we stand at $661,556 towards the goal of $675,000 or half the estimated cost of the base project. Therefore we need $14,000 yet to reach the goal of $675,000 cash on hand.

Building Renovation Team Update

Building plans are progressing. We have a list of contrac-tors that we will be sending our preliminary drawings to by April 16. Complete drawings should be finished by April 26 and will be sent out to them then. We are plan-ning for a pre-bid walk through of our facility on or around May 1st. After the walk through we will be accepting con-tractor bids through May 10th.
