FIBC/Big BagDischargersThe Rospen FIBC or Big Bag DischargeStations have now been re-engineered andextended to lead the market in range andfeatures.Designed for use in food, chemical, pharmaceuticaland plastics industries, the range is equally at homein minerals and aggregates handling. All powdersand particulates are discharged in a clean, efficientsystem.The stations can handle all types of bags and ourengineers will be pleased to advise clients of themost appropriate bag design or best mechanicalmethod of handling bespoke bags.These stations are designed for use in all industriesand can be coupled to the Rospen range of meteringor transfer feeding systems to provide a regulateddischarge of material to the clients plant or process.As well as FIBC Dischargers, Rospen also manufacturea range of Big Bag Filling machines.

Main Features• New neck/liner clamp allows for

open access and fast dust freeconnection of bags.

• Spring mounted bag supports to transmitvibration into the product not into the client’s

floor or steelwork structure. This lessens load andnoise imparted to mezzanine floors.

• Open architecture to avoid the use of difficultaccess chambers. With the use of a bag neck/linerclamp, the operator can access the bag ties outsideof an enclosure, making it a safe and easyoperation.

• Where enclosures are preferred, these utilise largeapertures and are designed to ensure that allmaterials flow to the process below with nospillage or emissions.

FIBC Station Configurations• Fork lift truck loading of bags with top loaded

rigging frames.• Fork lift truck loading of bags with cassette type

rigging frames allows for low level lift andplacement of the bags.

• Power hoist loading of the bags via single hoist ordual tandem hoists for high capacity dischargestations.

• Multi trip and single trip bags with dischargespouts are catered for, as well as flat bottomedbags requiring a knife to automatically open and discharge are available in the range.

The Rospen liner clampallows the operator toquickly and easily strip thedischarge neck of the lineraround a sealing tube. Thetube can be raised andlowered by hand as well as

rotated or removed to allow for ease of access.

When lowered the operator inflates the clamp sealwhich grips and seals the liner on the outside ofthe liner and prevents contact between thematerial inside the bag and the seal or anyexternal surface. When the seal is relaxed theliner is free to be pulled back past the sealensuring that all of the material/dust is depositedinside the system and not on the seal or externalsurfaces. This radically new and effective sealarrangement is a major advance for suppression ofemissions and external contamination and is subjectto a patent application.

A new pneumatic linertensioner device isavailable for use on therigging frame carrying theBig Bag. The operatorinserts some of the linerinto the winding assembly

before the Big Bag is lifted into position. Afterloading and with the rigging frame safely highabove the working area, the operator plugs thecontrol line into the station to activate thetensioner. A pneumatic drive rotates thetensioner, which pulls any free liner through thetop of the bag and on to a winding assembly. Thisgreatly encourages efficient discharge of materialfrom the Big Bag and avoids trapping of materialin liner folds or flat areas.

On demounting the rigging frame the windingassembly is removed by hand and it easily pullsapart to free the liner as a rolled bale for easy andclean disposal.

Flow Choke Liner / Neck Clamp Liner Tensioner

Rospen has developed a 4 strandclosure device as an improvementon previous industry bag neckclosure valves. This simple androbust choke will close the bagneck of a partially discharged bagto allow the operator to re-tie theneck and remove the bag from therig. A special displacement insertallows this to be effective evenwhen flow below the valve is notpossible.

Rospen Industries manufacture IBC filling and discharging systems forFood, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries in the UK and abroad.High integrity sealed rigid bin systems have been employed on majorprojects handling difficult powders in weighing and non weighingapplications with the convenience of IBCs and the suppression of dustemmissions. Big Bag fillers and dischargers are also manufactured withcombination Big Bag and Sack/Drum tip infeed. All such systems areemployed to complement the Rospen conveying, metering andweighing control systems.

Combined with Rospen Vacuum systems the IBC filling station can beemployed as a dust/waste reclaim/extraction system. Standard IBCs aremanufactured and commissioned from 15 litres to 4000 litres plus Rospencan provide a tailored system to suit all IBC handling applications.
