How to become the NEXT Rotaract International Model United Nations organizer?Want to join us in raising awareness on the role of young people in the decision-making progress? Are you willing to commit to the values we are promoting: professionalism, integrity and excellence? Do you wish to carry on the legacy of Rotaract International Model United Nations? If you responded positively to all these questions, then we warmly welcome you as the Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 Ambassador.What is the Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 Ambassador?The Ambassador program which is developed under the Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 umbrella aims to ensure the legacy of our concept and vision. Any Rotaract Club is eligible to enter in the competition for organizing the next year’s Rotaract International Model United Nations. Based on this year’s strategy to promote excellence in education, professionalism in organization and integrity in performance, we aim to carry on this legacy to the future Rotaract International Model United Nations conferences. In a nutshell, the Ambassador is any Rotaract Club who expresses in written the desire to organize the next Rotaract International Model United Nations.The Ambassador’s mission and responsibilityThe Ambassador’s central mission is to become the organizer of the next Rotaract International Model United Nations. In order to achieve this goal, the Ambassador has to agree with the following criteria:The Ambassador (the Rotaract Club) agrees to sign a partnership contract with Rotaract TEAM Baia Mare, under which all duties and responsibilities between the two Clubs are stipulated as noted here.The Ambassador must formulate a PR strategy for promoting Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 in their respective countries, networks and contexts.The Ambassador is encouraged to attract a culturally diverse group of participants, from all corners of the world to RotaractMUN 2013. This diversity is going to be one of the most important selection criterion because it will show us how committed you are to this project. More information will be offered upon acceptance of your application.The Ambassador is advised to attend this year event, but is not obliged to.The Ambassador must reveal creativity, innovation, a team-player spirit and responsibility in respect to this project and the PR strategy submitted to Rotaract International Model United Nations’ Board of Members and Secretary General. The Ambassador, must submit a draft project proposal for Rotaract International Model United Nations 2014 before RotaractMUN 2013 is officially opened (21 August, 2013). The proposal must follow the guidelines and vision of this event, but can also add-up its own knowledge and know-how. More information on the project proposal will be available in due time.The Ambassador, after the selection procedure, is obliged to join a training session with the Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 TEAM (Secretariat and Organizing Committee).The selected future organizer will guarantee continuity to RotaractMUN after the 2014 edition and accept the guidance and patronage of Rotaract TEAM Baia Mare. This applies to all future editions.Rotaract TEAM Baia Mare reserves the right to participate in all future editions of RotaractMUN as a passive observer giving guidance and advice upon request. This is to ensure high standards and continuity.The previous RotaractMUN organizer and secretariat, for example edition 2013, will evaluate and give feedback on the next RotaractMUN project, the 2014 edition, and so on with each subsequent editions.The Rotaract International Model United Nations 2014 organizing Rotaract Club will be selected based on the criteria mentioned above and will be officially announced during the closing ceremony of RotaractMUN 2013!Please be aware that we only accept one Ambassador application per Rotaract Club.We aTRANSCRIPT

What is Model United Nations?
Model United Nations conferences or short MUNs are academic conferences where participants (who
during the event are called county representatives and/or delegates) – students, youth workers and/or leaders and
young professionals from across the world, assume the role of representing a country and debate in formal sessions
current political, social and economic issues. MUNs represent an opportunity to learn how to influence decision-
making at international level.
What is Rotaract International Model United Nations (www.RotaractMUN.org)?
Following the historical structure of the United Nations mechanism and its procedures, Rotaract
International Model United Nations aims to bring young people’s solutions to global problems on the UN desk. To
achieve this dream, Rotaract International Model United Nations promotes excellence in education, professionalism
in organization and integrity in performance. The event is going to be held between 21st and 25th of August 2013 in
the city of Baia Mare, Romania!
Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 simulates four councils: The Security Council, Human
Rights Council, Economic and Social Council and the Peacebuilding Comission. Depending on the body in which
each participant decides to work, different topics of international importance will be discussed and debated based on
strict rules of procedures which will be implemented by the Secretariat. Each participant has the possibility to
express the views and interests of the country he/she represents. Therefore, besides accumulating strong knowledge
of global issues, participants will also master: the art of negotiation, public speaking using the official UN language
and using the procedural mechanisms set in motion by the UN.
Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 transcends from a mere simulation to an actual youth
decision-making process. It introduces the concept of Rapporteur Office whose goal is to ensure that the conference
outcomes are presented, edited and transmitted in a clear and concise manner to the world and the regional and
international decision-making bodies. Through this novel and innovative approach, Rotaract International Model
United Nations brings a new vision to the MUN Network and to the other conferences of this type.
Besides the chance to get trained as a young diplomat, Rotaract International Model United Nations grants
you the opportunity to explore different cultures and test your interpersonal and intercultural dialogue skills.
Participants may come alone, but will discover an ocean of possibilities in establishing friendships with other
participants.
Rotaract International Model United Nations 2013 is waiting for young enthusiastic, visionary and self-
