Welcome to our Guests, Visitors and Members; just us tonight
Attendance; 16 members, 2 make-ups, 2 apologies = 90.5%
President’s Prattle; Jointly hosting VTT (formerly GSE) team from Philippines with RC Elizabeth over
Easter and a G4 clubs Intercity dinner is planned for Sunday 31st March for them to be presented to
members. Sharka has accepted appointment as a non-Board member Treasurer. The earthquake and
tsunami in the Solomon islands is the location that our RAWCS team worked in during 2008 and we are
trying to find out more about how they are faring. Chris McDonald has accepted an “invitation” to lead
the 2014 Australia Day team.
Member Minutes; Richard:- Notice of our involvement in the RAAF “Welcome Home” parade in
March, advised preliminary arrangements for Parafield Air Show in March, providing BBQ facilities at a
cancer research fund raiser at Freeling in February. Graham:- Can anyone help with disposal of con-
taminated fuel (George offered to take care of it - maybe he has a still so stay clear of any home brew
offerings?) Wayne:- AllSorts sales report, and has a large quantity of quilting fabric to sell/provide.
Anthea:- Looking for help with the Town Centre Market signs. Dennis:- Polio Plus etc campaign run-
ning since 1985 is 99.99% complete but still needs money and people for the final push, also enlightened
us about “Rotarians Against Child Slavery”.
Meeting Program; Unfortunately, three of the four Team Leaders had previous important commit-
ments and were unable to attend, but we managed OK without them and were able to keep the flags
flying.
Sergeant’s Spot; We were so engrossed with Team meetings that were was no time for the Ser-geant’s spot and heads and tails, despite Richard’s headless chook impersonation.
Oh No! it’s back, again.
While we were
fluffing around with
minor matters, our
partners were
tackling and solving
the big issues of this
world and in between to help catch their
breath, Betty
demonstrated the art
of Ikebana to the 12
ladies who gathered
at Netherby for their
monthly get-
together.

Step 3. If the shift is still vacant, Brian will broadcast the vacancy to members through email as soon as possible.
Step 4. A replacement will volunteer, and attends the shift.
Vacant, any Volunteers?

Salamon, not Dennis
Underwood PLEASE
Now that Australia Day has been successfully put to bed, it’s now on to the next BIG thing. Although not as BIG as
Australia Day, the Classic Jets (Parafield) Air Display on Sunday 17th March will need lots of you to help. We need about 10
people to look after car parking and 3 to provide the BBQ services. If we have enough left over we plan to open AllSorts, and if
there are enough left after that we need extra people to drag out as much of our stock (and put unsold away after) for outside
display Please let Richard know as soon as possible if you will be available - hopefully all day, so that we can work out what
jobs can be done.
Unfortunately, many of our workers will be away on holidays or at the District Conference, so if you are a
Friend of Rotary, a friend of a Rotarian, or a Rotarian we need your help.

Available at your nearest AllSorts Shop We have acquired a very large quantity of quilting fabric and spools of cotton/
synthetic sewing thread, and while this is primarily for sale at bargain prices, we
can also make it available to like-minded organisations provided they can use it
for charitable purposes. The image shows just one of about 10 rolls we have in
storage.
Please spread the word to quilting and like groups, and suggest that they can call
in to our premises on Thursdays and Saturdays to inspect.
