A STRONG CONNECTION ROX-CERA Cerid®

The ROX-CERA Cerid® implants developed by DENTAL RATIO exceed the fracture and fatigue resistance of similar pure titanium implants and are characterized by a good osseointegration.

The core of the OKTAGON® ROX-CERA implants is made of titanium Grade 5 and has a biological high compliant ceramic coating, which supports a long-term osseointegration and enables a secure bone healing.

The ceramic coating is specially customized to the different biological and mechanical requirements of the endosseous and trans-gingival areas.

h Made of titanium Grade 5 ELI (approx. 30% higher tensile strength vs. titanium Grade 4)

h High biological compliance Cerid® 44 0 (titanium-zirconium-oxide) coated in the endosseous area

h Cerid® 45 ON (titanium-niobium-oxynitride) coated in the trans-gingival area

STRUCTURES – THAT DIFFER

TITANIUM-ZIRCONIUM-OXIDE Coating – friction corrosion protection

The endosseous part of the implants is provided with a cera-mic, dark, bio-compatible wear and corrosion protection layer of Cerid® 44 O.

This specially, for medical implants, developed coating is used for various medical products. The oxides of zirconium are thermo-dynamically and bio-chemically significantly more stable than the titaniums and so, avoid friction corrosion.

Through the titanium zirconium oxide ceramic coating, Cerid® 44 O, the shear strength of the surface is enhanced by the factor > 100 compared to the pure titanium oxide surface. The bio-compatibility index (BI) of the coating is nearly 1 (compared to titanium: BI > 0.3) Source: Prof. Dr.-Ing. R. Thull et.el, Biomed. Tech.

Cerid® 44 O

The BI reflects the part of native absorbing proteins to the total quantity of the absorbed proteins on a foreign material.

Cerid® 45 ON TITANIUM-NIOBIUM-OXYNITRIDE Coating – as antiplaque surface

The trans-gingival part of the implants is provided with a sponta-neous self-passivating, bio-chemical high stable titanium-niobium-oxynitride layer of Cerid® 45 ON.

The layer is light gold, very hard, H > 2000 HV0.1 (compared to titanium: H = 300 HV0.1) and possesses a high bio-chemical stability. The layer hardness offers protection against injuries through instruments during surgery.

As the picture below shows, the layer has a very smooth surface that counteracts on eventual dental plaque agglomeration.

Clinical observations confirm that the cervical accumulation of plaque on the titanium-niobium-oxynitride-ceramic surface is sig-nificantly reduced compared to a titanium surface.

Cerid® coatings on implants have excel-lently proved themselfs for more than 15 years on more than one million patients and help to improve the quality of life.

ROX-CERA Cerid®

MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS

h the fracture and fatigue resistance exceed those of similar titanium implants

h The high shear strength (FT > 300 N/mm²) prevents the abrasion of tiny particles and their accumulation in the peri-implant tissue

ROX-CERA Cerid® implants with reduced diameter suit for following indications

h Single tooth restoration in the front tooth and premolar region

h Bridges on two ROX-CERA implants without interlocking with bigger implant diameters

h Prosthesis on two ROX-CERA implants in the lower jaw

INDICATIONS

8 |

Implants as replacement of lost teeth belong to the standard repertoire of modern dental medicine today. On a purely technical point of view, this thera-py represents a routine procedure for an experienced surgeon. Many patients opt for a dental implant, but fear the intervention if a bone augmentation should be required.

ROX-CERA implants with reduced diameter

h enlarge your treatment options

h enable a less invasive intervention

h avoid a bone augmentation in many cases

h preserve blood vessels and vital structures through smaller drill holes

h allow shorter treatment times

h suit for patients with horizontal limited bone availability

HIGH PATIENT ACCEPTANCE

LESS INVASIVE

ADVANTAGES FOR YOU AND YOUR PATIENTSPatients who fear an implant treatment and a bone augmentation with transplant? ... or high costs?

The good osseointegration properties of the ROX-CERA Cerid® implants combined with reduced endosseous diameters contribute to reduce the complexity of the treatment as a whole, avoid invasive bone augmentations and supply a high patient acceptance.
