Side by side comparison of traditional fertilizer and

Royal-GrowThis comparison was conducted

on a rye grass field in Rose, Okla. The customer was skeptical at first, but he is now switching his entire fertilizer program over to Royal-Grow.

Royal-Grow out performed the traditional fertilizer on all fronts. The Royal-Grow test plot produced 620 pounds more per acre. A tissue analy-sis showed that the bales treated with Royal-Grow produced a higher quality feed, that tested higher in protein, TDN and net energy.

Picture 1 was treated with 200 pounds per acre of traditional 19-19-19. Picture 2 was treated with 64 ounces per acre of All Purpose Plant Food 20-20-20. Both pictures were taken on the same day.

a Rye grass field near Skiatook, Okla. This field was fertilized with Supreme Plant Food 32-0-0 and Ultra Sweet.

Picture 3 is a 2 acre goat trap that was fertilized with 64 ounces per acre of All Purpose Plant Food 20-20-20. 28 goats are in the goat trap and they can’t keep up with the growth. The owner said they have never seen growth like this.

Picture 4 was taken 11 days after fertilizing with 32 ounces per acre of Supreme Plant Food 32-0-0. The rye grass is knee high to thigh high in some places.

Plant Food 32-0-0 on half of a wheat grass hay field and 9 gallons per acre of ammoniacal 32-0-0 on the other half.

Following application, he noted that Royal-Grow did not burn his wheat, when the traditional did. The Royal-Grow plot also produced 7 more 4x5 bales per acre. A tissue analysis showed that the Royal-Grow treated bales were higher quality.

Pictures 1-3: This 2012 corn field was located in Oklahoma. The field received less than 8 inches of rainfall from planting through harvest. Prior to planting, the farmer applied the Super Sweet molasses based product at 5 gallons per acre. When the field reached a height of 1-3 inches, he applied the All Purpose Plant Food 20-20-20 at 32 ounces per acre. The field harvested 100 bushels to the acre. It was sold at Mid America Feed, and they recognized it as the highest grading corn they had purchased during the summer of 2012.

This Bermuda grass field was fertilized in September 2012 with the Supreme Plant Food 32-0-0. The fertilizer was applied at 64 ounces per acre.

After application, the field received a one-time rain of 4 inches. It was dormant due to the drought, and it was grazed down to less than 3 inches. Temperatures ranged from 50° to 60° nights and 70° to 80° days.

In 20 days, the Bermuda grass grew 10 inches. It pro-duced two bales to the acre (5x6 bales weighing about 1,800 pounds).

The grass continued to grow until the first frost. It grew another 4 inches after the first cutting.

This garden consisted of 20 tomato plants. The garden was a mixture of heirloom and hybrid plants.

The plants were fertilized three times during the sum-mer with Royal-Grow All Pur-pose Plant Food 20-20-20.

In approximately two months, the 20 tomato plants produced over 40 quarts of whole tomatoes.

As you can tell from the pictures, Royal-Grow not only increases production, but it also promotes dark green foliage. Above: Plants in the Yale FFA greenhouse were fertilized with All

Purpose Plant Food 20-20-20 until they were transplanted. After being transplanted they were fertilized with Organo Choice 24-8-16.

2013 Garden Mum Trial

This mum trial was conducted by a large scale grower. After seeing the results of this trial, the grower has decided to use Royal-Grow for their entire greenhouse operation.

The mums were grown in this trial scenario for 12 weeks. During the first 6 weeks, they were fertilized with Royal-Grow’s All Purpose Plant Food 20-20-20 at 150 ppm with the injector at 1:100. During the last 6 weeks, they were fertilized with Royal-Grow’s 16-4-16 Cal Mag at 150 ppm with the injec-tor at 1:100.

The overall cost of the Royal-Grow products was compared to the fertil-izers that the grower has used in previous years. By using Royal-Grow, this grower saved over $800 in fertilizer costs, and they grew their best mum crop to date. This trial proved that customers can save over 60% in fertilizer costs by using the Royal-Grow products.

Royal-Grow Herbicide Booster Herbicide Booster is an additive that will enhance the effec-tiveness of your current herbicide program. It was designed to speed up and enhance plant absorption. This product provides better weed control. Customers have reported that they are saving up to 50% on herbicide costs because they have cut their herbicide application rates in half. Application Rates: Use 2 ounces of the booster per acre for normal weed control, and use 4 ounces per acre for heavy brush areas. Application should be made following the herbicide manufacturers directions. The pictures on the right were taken near Kansas, Okla. The customer mixed 4 ounces of the Herbicide Booster with 2 pints of Amine. This mixture eliminated blackberry bushes and persim-mon trees. Results were noticeable within a couple of days.

• For best results, apply Royal-Grow in the evening. Avoid applying in periods of heavy dew or immediately following a heavy rain. Best results are achieved when applied to a dry plant leaf.

• Apply no less than 16 ounces per acre of NPK products. As a general rule of thumb, 32 ounces of Royal-Grow is equivalent to 100 pounds of dry fertilizer, and 64 ounces is equivalent to 200 pounds. If you plan on only applying once per season, we strongly suggest applying at the 64 ounce rate.

• Apply products when at least 3 inches of active growth on desired crop is achieved.

• For 1st time users, we suggest conducting a side-by-side test comparing our products to your current fertilizer program.

• If choosing to use Royal-Grow with a heavy application of herbicide, we suggest applying test strips with and without the herbicide to insure that the plants are not affected by the enhancement of the herbicide.

• Conduct a soil test prior to selecting a fertilizer program. If unable to conduct a soil test, we recommend a balanced nutrient approach.

• When fertilizing in the spring, you should use an NPK product to pro-mote plant growth, and complement it with Ultra Sweet and Liquid Velvet. With fall applications, you should focus on improving the soil condition by using Liquid Velvet and Ultra Sweet. A fall program will improve spring green up.

Other helpful information

Pasture Pride Program Royal-Grow’s Pasture Pride program is an effective and efficient ap-proach to soil revitalization and plant growth. The program was de-veloped specifically for agricultural operations. All grassland and crop operations will reach optimum production at a quicker rate when the three recommended products are applied. The three products should be applied three times a year:

• First application is during the spring when new growth is at least one to three inches tall.

• Second application should be applied after the first cutting or after 45 days of grazing.

•Third application should be applied in the fall, before soil tempera-tures reach 45 degrees.

The fall program is vital to help cool season grass produce additional foliage and increase root mass, which allows for improved and faster spring green up.

Turf management has undergone very few changes during the past sixty years. During this time the most widely accepted and used fertilizer products were devel-oped from salt based ingredients that tend to compact the soil. Soil compaction reduces percolation which leads to root rot, slows down normal plant processes and development, restricts oxygen availability to the root zone, and produces a less than healthy environment for all turf grass species. In previous years the goal was to green up a client’s lawn resulting in zero improvements being directed toward the soil structure. Therefore, as the soil decreases in fertility and general health, it becomes less desirable for all plant life. Increased quantities of fertilizer are then required to obtain satisfactory results.
