5. WHEN TWO OR MORE REQUIREMENTS OR STANDARDSARE SPECIFIED ESTABLISHING DIFFERENT OR CONFLICTINGLEVELS OF QUALITY, THE MOST STRINGENT REQUIREMENTIS INTENDED AND WILL BE ENFORCED. AT NO INCREASE INCONSTRUCTION COST.
6. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE NOCHANGES OR SUBSTITUTIONS WITHOUT WRITTENAPPROVAL BY ADDENDUM OR ARCHITECTSSUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONS (AGI).
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL MEET WITH THE BUILDING OWNEROR MANAGER PRIOR TO THE BID IN ORDER TO OBTAIN ACOPY OF THE BUILDING STANDARD GUIDELINES AND TODISCUSS THE BUILDING MANAGEMENTS REQUIREMENTSFOR PROTECTION OF PUBLIC SPACES, DAILY CLEANING,CONSTRUCTION, STAGING, MATERIAL, DELIVERIES,LOCATION OF CONSTRUCTION DUMPSTERS, PARKING, ETC.THE COST TO MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS SHALL BEINCLUDED IN THE BASE BID.
8. REPLIES TO ALL REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION (RFI)WILL BE ISSUED TO ALL PRIME BIDDERS, AS ADDENDATO THECONTRACT DOCUMENTS (DRAWINGS ANDSPECIFICATIONS), AND WILL BECOME PART OF THECONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION. ORAL CLARIFICATIONWILL NOT BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE CONTRACTDOCUMENTS.
9. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE THATALL WORK CONFORMS TO THE LATEST REQUIREMENTSOF APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL CODESAND ORDINANCES.
10. CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE AIADOCUMENT A101, STANDARD FORM FOR AGREEMENTBETWEEN OWNER AND CONTRACTOR, STIPULATED SUM -2007 EDITION AND SHALL INCORPORATE THE latestEDITION OF DOCUMENT A201, GENERAL CONDITIONS.UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED UPON BY THE OWNER ANDTHE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
11. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A BARGRAPH CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE INDICATIVE CRITICALPATH AND NON-CRITICAL PATH WORK ACTIVITIES TO THEARCHITECT AND OWNER FOR REVIEW AND COMMENTPRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK.
12. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND ALLSUBCONTRACTORS SHALL COORDINATE AND OBTAIN ALLPERMITS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCTION OFTHE WORK AS INDICATED ON THE CONTRACTDOCUMENTS.
13. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE IN THEBASE BID ALL PERMIT FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THECONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT, INCLUDING BUT NOTLIMITED TO PERMIT FEES FOR GENERAL CONSTRUCTIONAND ALL SUBCONTRACTOR PERMIT FEES.
14. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLEFOR FULLY COORDINATING ALL ASPECTS OF THECONSTRUCTION INCLUDING CROSS REFERENCING ALLOBVIOUSLY RELATED DOCUMENTS AND DRAWINGS.SHOULD PROBLEMS ARISE OUT OF A LACK OFCOORDINATION IN AREAS THAT COULD HAVEREASONABLY BEEN FORESEEN, NO ADDITIONALPAYMENT SHALL BE WARRANTED OR APPROVED BY THEOWNER OR THE ARCHITECT. SHOULD THE SERVICES OFTHE ARCHITECT AND/OR HIS CONSULTANTS BEREQUIRED TO REMEDY OR REVISE THE CONSTRUCTIONDUE TO ERRORS AND/OR OMISSIONS BY THE GENERALCONTRACTOR AND SUB-CONTRACTORS, COMPENSATIONFOR THESE SERVICES SHALL BE MADE BY THE GENERALCONTRACTOR THROUGH THE CHANGE ORDER PROCESSOR BY SEPARATE AGREEMENT WITH THE ARCHITECTAND/OR HIS CONSULTANTS.
15. ALL WORK DETAILED AND SPECIFIED IN THESECONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL BE THERESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR WHOSHALL SUBCONTRACT AND/OR ASSIGN PORTIONS OFTHE WORK TO THE MOST QUALIFIED TRADE. FAILURE BYANY SUBCONTRACTOR TO INCLUDE CERTAIN WORKREQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE JOB SHALL NOT RELIEVETHE GENERAL CONTRACTOR OF HIS RESPONSIBILITY ASPART OF THE CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION TOPROVIDE A COMPLETE JOB.
16. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATEAND ORGANIZE THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS ANDCOMPLETE SAME IN A MANNER WHICH LEAST IMPACTSTHE ADJOINING COMMON AREAS IN ORDER TO MINIMIZEINCONVENIENCE TO TENANTS.
17. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLETO EMPLOY THOSE CONTROL MEASURES NECESSARYTO ENSURE THAT THE BUILDING COMMONS AREAS ASWELL AS EXISTING TENANT SPACES ARE NOT IMPACTEDBY AIRBORNE CONTAMINANTS CAUSED BY THECONSTRUCTION OF THE TENANT SPACE.
18. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALLBE RESPONSIBLETO ENSURE THAT CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY SHALL BEPERFORMED IN MANNER SO AS NOT TO ADVERSELYIMPACT THE CONDITION OF ADJACENT PROPERTY,UNLESS SUCH ACTIVITY IS PERMITTED TO AFFECT SAIDPROPERTY PURSUANT TO A CONSENT BY THEAPPLICABLE PROPERTY OWNER, UNDER TERMS &CONDITIONS AGREEABLE TO THE APPLICABLE PROPERTYOWNER.
19. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL, BE
RESPONSIBLE TO EMPLOY THOSE CONTROL MEASURES

20. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLETO EMPLOY CONTROL MEASURES NECESSARY TOENSURE THAT CONSTRUCTION RELATED MATERIALSEQUIPMENT AND DEBRIS SHALL NOT REMAIN LOOSE OROTHERWISE UNSECURED AT A CONSTRUCTION SITE FROM24 HRS. AFTER A HURRICANE WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUEDUNTIL THE HURRICANE WATCH OR WARNING HAS BEENLIFTED. ALL SUCH CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, EQUIPMENTAND DEBRIS SHALL BE EITHER REMOVED FROM THECONSTRUCTION SITE OR SECURED IN SUCH A MANNER ASTO MINIMIZE THE DANGER OF SUCH CONSTRUCTIONMATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND DEBRIS CAUSING DAMAGETO PERSONS OR PROPERTY FROM HIGH WINDS.

22. ALL REQUIRED EXITS SHALL BE MAINTAINEDOPERATIONAL AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION.
23. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLETO EMPLOY CONTROL MEASURES NECESSARY TOENSURE THAT THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS WILL NOTHINDER OR INTERFERE WITH EMERGENCY RESPONSEACCESS TO THE PROPERTY, DEVELOPMENT ORADJACENT PROPERTIES ( STREETS, ALLEYS, FIRE LANES,ETC.)
24. THE EXISTING FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM SHALL BEMAINTAINED OPERATIONAL AT ALL TIMES DURINGCONSTRUCTION. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFYTHE FIRE DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO SHUTTING DOWN ANYFIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM AND NOTIFY AGAIN WHEN THESYSTEM IS RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION.
25. NOC SHALL BE FILED WITH CLERK OF COURT. IF WORKDESCRIBED IN THE NOC IS NOT ACTUALLY COMMENCED IN90 DAYS, SUCH NOTICE IS NULL AND VOID. POST THENOC ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE BEFORE FINALINSPECTION
26. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL DELIVER TOOWNER PRIOR TO FINAL PAYMENT ALL GUARANTIES,WARRANTIES AND TWO COPIES OF ALL MANUALS ANDOPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AND ARRANGE TO GIVEPHYSICAL DEMONSTRATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT TOOWNER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE.
27. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ANDINSTALL TEMPORARY FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AT ALL TIMESDURING CONSTRUCTION, LOCATED AS REQUIRED BY, NFPA10, NFPA 101, AND NFPA 241.
28. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT SHOPDRAWINGS PRODUCT DATE AND SAMPLES TO THEARCHITECT FOR REVIEW AND COMMENT. SHOP DRAWINGSSHALL BE PRESENTED IN A CLEAN AND THOROUGHMANNER AND SHALL BE OF SUFFICIENT DETAIL ANDSCALE TO INDICATE COMPLIANCE WITH THE CONTRACTDOCUMENTS, MANUFACTURER AND TRADE STANDARDS.THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THEARCHITECT IN WRITING, AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION, OFANY DEVIATIONS IN THE SUBMITTALS FROMREQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, OR OFANY DISCREPANCIES IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.ACCEPTANCE OF A SUBMITTAL DOES NOT WAIVE ORALTER THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACTDOCUMENTS. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR ISRESPONSIBLE TO DETERMINE AND VERIFY FIELDDIMENSIONS, FABRICATION PROCESSES AND TECHNIQUESOF CONSTRUCTION. THEGENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A SHOP DRAWINGSCHEDULE INDICATING THE CRITICAL DATES FOR SHOPDRAWINGS SUBMISSION AND DATES THAT REVIEWEDSHOP DRAWINGS; PRODUCT DATA AND SAMPLES WILL BENEEDED. ALLOW SUFFICIENT TIME IN THE SCHEDULE FORARCHITECT REVIEW AND POSSIBLE RESUBMITTALS IFREQUIRED. THE RETURN OF SHOP DRAWINGS TO THEGENERAL CONTRACTOR, WITH OR WITHOUT COMMENT,DOES NOT RELIEVE THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR ANDTHEIR SUB CONTRACTORS OF THE RESPONSIBILITY TOCONSTRUCT THE BUILDING PER THE PLANS ANDSPECIFICATIONS, EVEN THOUGH THE SHOP DRAWINGSMAY INCORRECTLY DEVIATE FROM THE CONSTRUCTIONDOCUMENTS. GS&P, THEIR CONSULTANTS OR THE OWNERARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CORRECTIVECONSTRUCTION RESULTING FROM SHOP DRAWINGS THATDEVIATE FROM THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
29. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY FINALSELECTION OF ALL FINISHES WITH ARCHITECT ANDOWNER/TENANT PRIOR TO FABRICATION. SUBMITSAMPLES TO ARCHITECT FOR REVIEW AND COMMENTS ASDESCRIBED ABOVE.
30. ALL MATERIALS USED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALLBE NEW AND FREE FROM BLEMISHES, NO USEDMATERIALS WILL BE ALLOWED, EXCEPT AS NOTED IN THECONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.
31. DELIVERY STORAGE AND PROTECTION OF ALLMATERIAL SHALL MEET THE MANUFACTURER'S PRODUCTSTORAGE REQUIREMENTS PRODUCT, REVIEW BY THEARCHITECT AND SHALL PROVIDE COMPLETE PROTECTIONOF PRODUCT.
32. MATERIAL OR SYSTEMS SHALL BE INSTALLEDACCORDING TO EXACT MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATIONINSTRUCTIONS.
33. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATEDIRECTLY WITH OWNER/TENANT FOR ALL WORK NOTEDTO BE SUPPLIED BY "OWNER" OR "TENANT".
34. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE THATALL NEW CONSTRUCTION MUST MEET FEDERAL ANDSTATE ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.
35. WHEREVER DISSIMILAR METALS CONTACT EACHOTHER, AND ARE SEPARATED FURTHER ON THE BELOWSCALE THAN BY A SINGLE INTERMEDIATE METAL, THECONTACTING SURFACES SHALL BE INSULATED FROMEACH OTHER BY A BITUMINOUS COATING, 15# ASPHALTSATURATED FELT OR OTHER ARCHITECT APPROVEDMEANS. METALS ARRANGED IN ORDER OF GALVANICACTIVITY: ALUMINUM, ZINC, GALVANIZED IRON, TIN ONSTEEL, LEAD (HARD), STAINLESS STEEL, COPPER, ANDMONEL.
36. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND THE APPROPRIATESUBCONTRACTORS SHALL COORDINATE THE LOCATIONOF OUTLETS, SWITCHES, THERMOSTATS, ETC. WITH THEFURNITURE LAYOUT AND WITH CONSIDERATION GIVEN TOTHE PLACEMENT OF ART, PICTURES, PLAQUES, ETC. THISSHALL BE REVIEWED WITH THE ARCHITECT AND TENANT.

IF THE ARCHITECTDEEMS THE WORK SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE THEARCHITECT WILL DEVELOP A PUNCH LIST OF MINOR WORKITEMS TO ACCOMPANY THE CERTIFICATE OFSUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION.

4D. Gypsum Board* -- As an alternate to Items 4, 4A, 4B, and 4C - Nom. 5/8 in. thick gypsum panels applied horizontally.Horizontal joints need not be backed by steel framing. Horizontal edge joints and horizontal butt joints on oppositesides of studs need not be staggered. Gypsum panels fastened to framing with 1 in. long Type S steel screws 1-1/2 in.from board edges, 3 in. from board edge and every 8 in. OC in the field. Screws spaced a max 12 in. along the top andbottom edges of the wall.

5. Joint Tape and Compound -- Vinyl, dry or premixed joint compound, applied in two coats to joints and screw heads;paper tape, 2 in. wide, embedded in first layer of compound over all joints. 6. Resilient Channel -- (Optional) -- 25 MSG galv steel resilient channels spaced vertically max 24 in. OC, flange portionattached to each intersecting stud with 1/2 in. long type S-12 panhead steel screws.
6A. Steel Framing Members (Not Shown)* -- As an alternate to Item 3, furring channels and resilient sound isolation clipas described below:
a. Furring Channels -- Formed of No. 25 MSG galv steel. 2-3/8 in. wide by 7/8 in. deep, spaced 24 in. OC perpendicularto studs. Channels secured to studs as described in Item b. Ends of adjoining channels are overlapped 6 in. and tiedtogether with double strand of No. 18 SWG galv steel wire near each end of overlap. As an alternate, ends ofadjoining channels may be overlapped 6 in. and secured together with two self-tapping #6 framing screws, min. 7/16 in.long at the midpoint of the overlap, with one screw on each flange of the channel.
b. Steel Framing Members* -- Used to attach furring channels (Item a) to studs (Item 1). Clips spaced 48 in. OC., andsecured to studs with 1-5/8 in. wafer or hex head Type S steel screw through the center grommet. Furring channelsare friction fitted into clips.
