SUMMER 1984
INTRODUCTION
The following is a report on a power stripping job of work done on parts of the Malouf claims TB 579210, 579211, 579212, 580863, 5^0866 and 580867 code named Hardrock Extension Group situated in the Township of Ashmore in the District of ThunderBay Ontario. The claims are situated in Northwestern Ontario. For ease of reference Map#l is an area map while Map #2 shows the specific location of the claims in Ashmore Township. The claims are part of a large block of three claim groups code named Hardrock . Extension, Geraldton-Longlac Gold and Ferau Groups. The claims are all contigueous and work done for assessment purposes on the above mentioned claims was applied in varying amounts to other claims in the Groups.
Approximately 9000 feet of trenches 20 to 30 feet wide involving 660 machine hours and approximately two miles of access road involving 50 machine hours was performed during the summer of 1984. Approximately 70# of the trenches were hydrauliced using a high pressure Wajax pump. A limited amount of sampling was performed with some trenching and blasting.

LOCATION and ACCESS
MAP #2 shows the location of mining claims TB579210, 567911* 579 212, 580S63*5#0#66 and 5^0d67. The claims are located on a large peninsula on Kenogamisis Lake in Ashmore Township, District of ThunderBay Ontario.Access is by boat or by a tractor road which starts from a point north of the Hardrock Mine Pump House and goes east for approximately two miles to the tip of the peninsula in Kenogamisis Lake.

RESULTS
Approximately 9000 feet of trenching 20 to 30 feet wide was opened up during the summer of 19#4. Approximately 70# of the trenches were washed off with a high pressure pump. Some drilling and blasting was performed. A very limited amount of sampling was done. The work has not been mapped geologically. Four prominent gold showings were uncovered: From east to west named- The Point Vein, The Bingo Vein, The Visible Gold Zone and The Main Porphry Zone.
The Point Vein. The Point Vein is quite pronounced over six toeight feet. The vein system has been opened up over a distance of approximately 300 feet. It is open to the east where it strikes into the lake and to the west where it falls off into the swamp. The highest of four grab samples was 0.05 oz au/ton.
The Bingo Vein The Bingo Vein has been followed for approxim ately 300 feet. It averages between 1.5 feet 6 feet in width. The higheat of seven channel samples was 0.24 ounces au./ton over 5 feet. The vein is open in two directions - it falls off into the swamp to the east - more stripping needs to be done to the west.
The Visible Gold Zone The Visible Gold Zone'has been opened upover a distance of approximately 300 feet. It (the zone) is between 20 and 30 feet wide. It is well pyritized. The values as shown on the accompanying Map Of Trenches are quite varied. The best values appear to be within quartz veins within the zone. The highest grab sample of quartz vein material was 2.&0 ounces au./ton. The zone is open to the west where it falls off into the swamp. There is visible gold in the quartz veins
The Main Porphyry Zone The Main Porphyry Zone is a stock workof quartz-tourmaline-arsenopyrite gold veins hosted in altered porphyry. The porphyry appears similar to the Macleod-Cockshutt "F Zone porphyry which hosted 10 million tons grading 0.15 ounce gold per ton (Resident Geologist Files, Ontario Ministry Of Natural Resourses, Thunder Bay) The zone is at least 60 feet wide- and is open in three directions - to the east where the strike is obscured by swamp- to the west where it is obscured by swamp and over burden and to the south where it falls off into the swamp. The true width of the zone then is unknown. The values are quite varried. The best values were found in the southern part of the trench with the highest being 0.3& oz au./ton.
Page 3
CONCL -IONS
The stripping program has uncovered 4 gold showings to date. It has resulted in two very important geological observations being made: 1; That the Bankfield-Tombill Fault extends to the tip of the
large peninsula in Kenogamisis Lake.( The fault is shown on the existing geological map of Ashmore Township as stopping south of Hardrock #1 shaft Horwood and Pye 1951-2) Horwood and Pye pointed out that all of the past producing mines are spatially related to th Bankfield - Tombill Fault within a zone of strong deformation characterized by shearing and folding adjacent to fault. Summary of Field Work 19#4 OGS Misc. Paper 119 - Map #3 (O.G.S.yv borrowed from Paper 119 shows the importance of the observations.
2. That the Main Zone has been identified as porphyry which is similar to the Macleod-Cockshutt "F" Zone porphyry. The "F" Zone hosted 10,000,000 tons grading O.15 ounces.
RECOMENDATIONS
A qualifying report written by C.W.Archibald 19#1 recomends that one million dollars bis spent in exploring the Malouf claims. This report is on file with both the resident geologists office for assessment purposes and with the Ontario Mineral Exploration assistance office. The program should be continued along the guide lines of Archibald's report.
