Nut Allergies Please can we remind all parents that lunchboxes should not contain any product containing nuts. On both sites we have children that have severe nut allergies, thank you for you co-operation. Fitbits We have noticed recently a lot of children are wearing Fitbits or similar movement tracking devices. We understand how the children want to measure their steps and recognise that they are a good way to increase activity and physical exercise so, as a school, we are in a bit of a dilemma. We have made the decision to allow Fitbits in school but these must remain the responsibility of the children and the school cannot be held accountable if they are lost. As with any other watches we ask that the children take them off for PE. This does somewhat contradict the reason for wearing them but we need to ensure the children move all jewelry for PE so no injuries are caused to themselves or other children. Please explain this to your children so they know why they are asked to remove them. We ask that parents name the Fitbits carefully in the event that the children remove them for PE so they can be returned to their rightful owner. Medicine If your child has had medicine before school, please can you let their class teacher know, when you drop them off in the morning.
If a child has a temperature of 38C or above we will ask for you to come and collect them, preferably within half an hour of receiving the phone call. We appreciate this is not always possible, so please do inform of us of an additional contact that may be able to collect earlier on your behalf, thank you.
Colds Over the last few weeks we have noticed some children have really been suffering with colds. Unfortunately we can not afford to supply soft tissues to the chldren, therefore if you would like to donate a box to your childs class, we would be very grateful. Thank you. Speech Cup - Tingewick

KS1 Indoor Athletics Festival
Just before half term I took a group of six Year 1 and 2 children to an Indoor Athletics Festival at Buckingham Secondary School. The children all had a fantastic time and were a huge credit to the school. They took part enthusiastically in a range of different athletics activities, each child trying their very best and their behaviour was exemplary. We came third out of nine schools, which is a great achievement considering we were competing against the bigger local schools. At each Sports Festival the P.E. students organise and lead the activities. At this festival these students had an additional gold star medal which they could award to any of the 54 children who took part and who
stood out to them either in terms of their performance or attitude. I was exceptionally proud that of these 6 medals, three were awarded to us as the children’s perseverance, sportsmanship and effort stood out to them. A huge well done to all of the children. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! Mrs Kent
